I realize the best place for this is in Activism - but since the thread is here...
I really do think one of the best ways to make the governors, Corzine and the rest, pay real close attention to this matter is to write a letter responding to Masur's letter, lay out all the scientific arguments pro long-term abx....
and then have that letter SIGNED by as many of us as is possible. There could be maybe a small statement from all the signees saying they were helped by long-term abx.
Corzine's a politician. There is power in numbers. I think a letter signed by a few hundred people would be pretty impressive.... no?

Yes, my letter barely touched all of the other conditions lyme bacteria and coinfections are being found to play a role in.
How many people floundering from psychiatric diagnoses who are drugged to the gills may actually have Lyme...or if not Lyme, some other treatable infection for that matter. The truth is we don't know and what is more stunning is no one is funding the research to look.
Corzine is a politician and numbers do count...
US CDC confirms 23-25,000 cases per year, admits it is under-reported 6-12 fold. That means, using the middle number of 9 fold under-reporting, that between 207,000 to 225,000 voters per year are affected.
Each of those people have likely garnered honest concern and caring from at least 5 uninfected people, so that translates to between 1,035,000 and 1,125,000 voters per year who are concerned about this issue. Over the past 20 years, that means 20,700,000 to 22,500,000 voters have been touched by this issue.
Yes, I know they didn't have as many cases in the early years...so, because I don't have an equation to account for that I only went back 20 years instead of 30 years.
Those are pretty imposing numbers for politicians.

Thank you Jim for taking the time to compose this letter.
The points you raised are accurate, and get to the heart of the real problem, both with the IDSA authors, and what is happening with patients now.
I hope the Gov. Assoc. people pause and think about your letter. I hope for once they will realize that the injustice and power maneuverings are destroying lives.

GREAT LETTER! The tide is changing, I feel it in my bones. Oh, well, what I'm feeling in my bones, might be a herx. hehehe... No wait, it can't be a herx, cuz I've had more than 30 day's of abx, and there's no such thing as late stage lyme! How could I be so stupid as to think that I'm still sick?
Seriously - the tide is changing - cuz of letters like yours! Thanks for your effort from a Mom & her daughter who both suffer. (((hug)))

Dear Jim,
I have to admit that it was the site CanLyme where I initially found a list of Lyme symptoms,
And started down my road to finding someone who could/would diagnose me.
Thank you for that site.
The letter was accurate and very well written.
Really puts it out there regarding the IDSA's position and monetary gains, doesn't it.
I see the IDSA as a group that keeps on patting itself on the back for attaining and promoting
