I've been having heart skips.. and other annoying stuff going on with my heart.
I read that magnesium can help. I'm confused about what kind to get.
I sent my husband to the store and he just called. They had magnesium citrate, magnesium oxide, and a lot of other kinds.
I wanted him to get magnesium lactate because I read Dr. B's protocol and he mentions that kind. But he can't find it anywhere.
Is there a good alternative???
Thanks!!! Posted by Lymetoo (Member # 743) on :
Citrate would be OK.

Cool. That's what he ended up getting. He went to 5 different places. He finally got the citrate because it said on the box that it had extended release. Hopefully it helps with these dang heart palps.

Later, you can go to the health food store and get some magnesium glycinate or mag. asporotate.
Glycinate is supposed to be the most easily absorbed.

Dr. B put me on MagTab which is available at Walmart.
You will have to ask the pharmacist for a bottle, because they put it behind the counter.

I get more good out of one super size horse pill of mag. than I could get on 5 of the Spring Vally or whatever they are called today.

What worries me about these store brands at ww is that they probably get the stuff from China. Even if it's imported to a distributor in say New Jersey...it could still be coming from China.
And for gosh sakes, folks....Don't buy any of that "food" from the dollar stores....Most of it is from China.

Really? My husband asked the pharmacist at Wal-mart and she said they didn't carry Mag-tab. (That was the brand I was looking for.) I guess she didn't know what she was talking about. Maybe I'll stop by there tomorrow and ask.

Whoops! We got some cheap brand from Wal-mart. I took 2 and it really didn't do anything. I know it's not instant, but still....

Walmart does not manufacture the Mag Tab SR, Niche does. Walmart just carries it, as does any other pharmacy, you just have to have them order it for you.
The naturopath who works with my LLMD had me switch from magnesium citrate to magnesium malate. Can't remember the reason but he was quite adament that it had to be malate.

some research has shown that malic acid, which is one of the breakdown products from Mg malate, combines with Mg to increase ATP and reduce muscle pain associated with CFS and fibromyalgia (for one research source, see Chronic Fatigue, Fibromyalgia & Lyme Disease: An Alternative Medicine, By Burton Goldberg, Larry Trivieri)
It seems to me that if, like me, you already have a ton of magnesium, you should be able to add malic acid at the same time you take the Mg for the same effect. Check with the ND first, though.
