HI I was curious if anyone here --any of the adults experienced parvovirus which turned into a debilitating rheutaological illness with inflamation everywhere
I dont know if I have it-- another thing I will test for.
I read somewhere that adults may have the pain for years, has anyone had this here.
I read it can cause autoimmune diseases like lupus .
thanks

Definitely get it checked out. Anyone with a suppressed immune system is susceptible to parvovirus.

I was recently tested for many viruses, including Parvo. I was not high for Parvo virus, but I was high for HHV-6, EBV and CMV. I'm currently on Valcyte, an anti-viral drug.

I think lyme suppressed my immune function allowing the viruses to grow.

The symptoms for lyme disease and chronic viral infections are basically the same.

Hey citrus..

My family and a few friends have been tested for Parvo.. at my insistance.. and all were positive.

I am still trying to get others tested.. but not many doctors bother.

Because I had it.. have it.. and do have inflammation all over the place... I'd have to say a probable yes to your question.

Hope that helps.

I just yesterday tested positive for Parvovirus using ART - which I believe is accurate. I think it is common in people with Lyme and only not talked about much due to few doctors testing for it.

I read parvovirus causes SLE Lupus.
With Lyme alone I never had any autonuclear antibodies or inflamation.
My ANA , ESR , and other inflammation tests were nag hundreds of times.
Now this past year I think I may have parvo which caused the SLE
Tincup--- did you get an autoimmune dysfunction from this like lupus like syndrome.
My bones are swollen and hurt super bad.

Tincup you mean you still have it ongoing
I read somewhere that they offer immunoglobin to get rid of the chronic form--what are you doing about it
I guess this may be something common with lymies
what are your symptoms
mine are worst than lyme rheumatological wise

does anyone know if the autoantibody --autoimmune disease will go away once the parvpvirus clears or is this damage permanent
suggestions and personal experience is appreciated

My daughter and I were both positive for Parvo

It can also cause aplastic anemia. It also caused my Epstein Barre virus to go nuts.

I got parvo, and my daughter got the child form, fifths disease.

Parvo-virus and 5ths give you a lacy red rash just under the skin.

My PCP told me that arthritis would settle in one joint. It didn't.

We probably got sick with that about ten years ago. My daughter still tested positive for it a couple of years ago.
