It's unfortunate that NC has basically forced this wonderful doctor out. Unfortunately, medical boards often look at care within their state only in determining the standard of care.

That makes it very difficult for LLMDs to practice in states where there are no others. Very sad and very dangerous as Lyme continues to increase outside of the northeast.

So what was the final outcome? Is he still allowed to practice? I'm assuming since AL says he/she had an appt sept 19th that this is still ongoing? Anyone know?

You know, this reminds me of something I heard Jerry Lewis say during this past telethon. Maybe some of you heard it also...

He said that yrs ago - during the Kennedy administration; when he was desperate for research $...that he asked Pres Kennedy if the gov. would "front" him 50 million for research - and he would pay it back over 10 future telethons. President Kennedy's response - "Your better off keeping the government out of it!"

So true, so true in the long run, huh?

I believe this is what it is going to have to come down to in the case of TBI research. It needs to be funded by those in the know - without insurance or political bias!

We need a telethon or concert or something to get the truth out to the general public - so that the ducks will have to be accepting of the REAL research, or look like idiots in front of their patients queries concering lyme. Time to turn the tables on 'em!

Dr. Jemsek's license was not taken away from him completely, he had limitations put on the scope of his practice for 1 year (which is up pretty darn soon).

The medical boards are the doctors. States give great deference to the medical profession to regulate themselves.
