Note: From a recent seminar directed at:

Autism Recovery: A practical resource-oriented Workshop for Concerned Parents and Practitioners by Institute of Neurobiology/ faculty Klinghardt, MD PhD /Derksen, ND/ Clark, RPh

There were other items covered, as part of the treatments, addressing GI Healing and Parasitic and Antifungal Treatments.

I might post them later as I have time.

Yo ho GiGi... nice to see you!

Since the above isn't available in the USA...

Try L-Glutamine. Pharmacutical grade ONLY with NO additives.. powder.. mixed in water once a day. Tasteless and odorless.

It does a grand job. Can be purchased in most health food stores or through chiropractors.

Thanks Gi Gi for info-wish I understood what asthma had to do with leaky gut though.

At this point, she is to follow the diet, take probiotics and L-glutamine which we couldn't afford.

Just adjusting to the diet will help I think.

She didn't mention anything about antihistamines.

I have been on ketotifen since October. All of my GI symptoms disappeared in the first month or so. It is extremely effective for leaky gut. I fill my prescriptions here in Canada with the help of my GP.

Cobweb,

"Thanks Gi Gi for info-wish I understood what asthma had to do with leaky gut though."

Leaky gut is at the base of a multitude of disease problems --- including asthma.

Best to you and your daughter.

Thank you, Gigi. I think I will also ask my LLND about this for my own daughter.

My daughter was also diagnosed with asthma when very little. We were instructed to take her off wheat by a naturopath after blood tests confirmed a strong wheat/gluten allergy. She never had a single asthma episode again. Still, many questions remained. *Leaky gut was never discussed back then, but over the years we discovered that this was one of the problems.

Glutamine seems to be helping along with anti-lyme protocols as she is able to tolerate more foods now.

My LLMD has had me on this regimen for 3 weeks, and my pain has gone down by at least half...

L-Glutamine, IGG 2000 DF - immunoglobulin concentrate - (both by Xymogen). Seems to be helping.

thanks for website Gi Gi-so if leaky gut causes things like asthma- wouldn't treating the leaky gut clear up asthma and or sinus problems?

the antihistamine is for the asthma/sinus right? not the leaky gut.

Lots of info on the website-I'll add it to my ever expanding file of information.

Carolyn by the way does have sports induced asthma. and a whole host of breathing problems at time. Mainsream doc gave her an inhaler and suggested she take benedrly at night, but never addressed what may be causing the difficulty!

It takes a "rogue" alternative doctor (ha!) to properly diagnose. Mainstream docs think they are such Gods-and they are so closed minded.

I just wanted to mention something else that occurred to me... Not only did my daughter not have another asthma episode when she stopped eating wheat, she also never got sick like so many of her classmates did during the school year. On the rare occassions when she did eat some wheat, she would start to develop a cold. That is how much of an impact it had for her.

I think she now has sports induced asthma also, but since she doesn't play sports regularly I am not positive. I only know that she complains of breathing difficulty after running or doing anything strenuous. I am sure she is eating more wheat away from home since she is, well, a teenager.

Still... it seems unfair that anyone should have to go their entire lives without eating wheat and it is especially torturous to teens. Addressing the real cause would definitely be best outcome.

Have a phone appt with LLND next week.

Clearing the Leaky Gut problems permanently does extremely well with www.allergie-immun.de

It may take time, but you can heal. And since we all know by now that everything starts in the gut, it may be worth learning about it. And you can then eat all the good wheat you want. It is impossible to avoid it, because if cows eat grain, the frequencies of the grain are stored in the meat. Or the grain the chicken eat are now remembered in the eggs you eat, on and on.....
and before long, we become allergic to most good and healthy foods.

This can all be stopped with the Allergie Immun Therapy. Many people have done it.

Take care.

I read up on Ketotifen and it says it can cause weight gain. I don't need any help with this. Any ideas why it would cause this? Just interested...

orrn, I doubt that any pharmaceutical drug will eliminate permanently the allergies/dysregulations causing the leaky gut syndrome at the DNA level. Allergie Immun will. It is an electromagnetic disturbance. Malabsorption of food can cause just about anything, including weight gain or weight loss and malnutrition.
