I've been on doxy for 2 weeks now. The first 12 days I sensed improvement (noticeable drop off in neuro symptoms), but then on days 13 and 14 the neuro symptoms (twitching/buzzing muscles, numb fingers and toes, extreme fatigue) returned with a vengence. Is this the "herx" reaction so many of you talk about? Is it possible to herx after only the first 2 weeks of antibiotics?

Thanks all. Be well!

Its possible write down when this started and see if in 28 to 34 days it happens again.

Yes, it's possible. It sounds like a herx to me. When I was on doxy, all I really noticed was extreme dizziness (even while sitting still I felt like I was swaying back and forth), fatigue, and just an overall sick feeling.

I'd say write it down and keep track. Keeping a symptom notebook or charts is a good idea. I keep one.

Yes, keeping a journal is a very good idea!

Thanks for the input.

Another possibility is that it's the 4 week cycle. Lyme replicates in a 4 week cycle, and many people find that they flare once every 4 weeks. Keeping a journal is a good way to find this pattern.

I've been taking doxy for about a week now, and it seems like I've been up and down - symptom-wise.

I do think a little brain fog has lifted and I may be thinking a little clearer.

Symptoms can come on really strong, then back off, and come on all within an hour! Y'all know the drill!

When I took doxy in August, this was sort of the same course it followed. The big exception was the bulls-eye rash on my elbow that was incredibly nasty.

It's interesting what Aniek said about the 4-week cycle. I started seeing this kind of pattern in my symptoms, and I told my doctors last week.

Now it seems that around the middle of the month, I tend to REALLY feel bad and have the most sx at the same time.

I'm sure that will change, because ALL of this is EVER-changing. Never a dull moment!
