In all these garbage articles that are hitting the fan.. do you know what they ALL have failed to mention?
We get better with antibiotic treatment.
End of story.

But none of them have ever seen anyone get better on long-term abx and they only accept IDSA studies ... of course, could the reason they have never seen someone get better on long-term abx be because the IDSA docs have never treated someone with long term abx (end of sarcasm).

And do you know what we NEVER see?
A bunch of their patients jumping up and down screaming they are better and 2 weeks of antibiotics cured them all.
How many support groups with REAL patients are out there touting how wonderful the idiots are?
NONE!
Go figure.

Tincup and Goofy .. You are right on target!!!!
Or is that Goofy and Sixkids?? Posted by Robin123 (Member # 9197) on :
That's exactly what I told the person at the other end of the phone at the conference -- that I had never heard of anyone getting better with a couple weeks of antibiotics. Does it ever happen?
Can you imagine an IDSA support group? Probably meets at a cemetary...I know, it's a plot...

I picture the members of the IDSA as a bunch of back slappers.
You know the kind that constantly are rewarding themselves and each other for their (admittedly ignorant) position.
Kind of like a cult.
Not smart enough or curious enough to figure it out for themselves.
Relying on other's interpretation of questionable data,
All in an effort to be "part of the group".
You can only belong to this group if you accept their position without question.
Reminds me of a cult.
All I can say is I wouldn't be drinking any cups of "grape Kool-aid" if
these folks were handing it out.
Hugs,
Geneal

IDSA: Chronic Lyme does not exist.
Question: Why does the IDSA have treatment guidelines for Lyme Disease if there are no risks for the undiagnosed and untreated?
If chronic Lyme does not exist, then it seems ridiculous to treat the primary infection.

exactly tincup. We do get better. The proof is in the pudding, thank god. Posted by yourtroubl (Member # 11087) on :
Well you know my surgeon is not the one treating me for Lyme, but I trust him with all my heart. He is brilliant...
Although, we dont have lyme in WV.....lol, he told me the only thing that was going to get me well was intravenous antibiotics for at least 3 months...He knew a doctor with it...
So there are a few out there but in my experience they have had to see it in their personal life and not in patients...

i think they mentioned that people "may" get better on abx treatment "because of the anti-inflammatory properties of the abx," not because they have an active infection.
now, we all know this is complete hogwash, but any tips on how to formulate a rebuttal to folks who use this argument?

I can't imagine how to answer anyone who avoids the truth as well as they do!!
