Hey Ya'll,

I am not crazy...at least I don't think so, but after I started antibiotic treatment, especially more now that I am getting IM injections, I actually "feel" movement/sensations in my body. Some days more than others. Some days not at all. But when I do...I tell my husband, "the natives are restless again!"

Does anyone feel this? It feels like the critters are very angry and are moving about. But, how can I feel them if they are very very very small; I was told by my MD that I had a lot of Lyme, so ??? I'm serious, I feel like they are moving/coursing through my body just under the skin.

Of course, everyone else thinks I'm a little crazy!!

Can anyone attest to my sanity?

Dear TickTock,

I get the sensation on various parts of my body, that I have very small bugs crawling on me.

There are no bugs, but I repeatedly reach up and scratch/itch the area.

Mostly on top of my head, but sometimes on arms and legs.

My neighbor who also has Lyme has this too.

Hugs,

Geneal

I have had this sensation too, and treated for parasites to be on the safe side, and continue to treat for the smaller microbes.

Tick Tock,

It's odd you mentioned this since before my diagnosis even, I use to feel like I had small bugs crawling under my skin. It would be enough to make me scratch.

I never considered it a part of one of my symptoms of what was going on at the time, but at some times, it would get pretty insane with this sensation.

As to what was causing it, I'll never really know and it hasn't been back since treatment, YET. I would usually get the sensation in my arms.

Definitely an interesting topic, although I can't help with what really causes it.

Before I knew I had Lyme, I'd been telling people that it felt like something was swimming in my legs, and whatever it was would get stuck at my knee caps.

But whenever I would straighten my legs, they would all burst through my knee caps finally as soon as I'd straighten my legs.

I also get little tingley and needlelike sensations.

You definitely can feel the movement of them. Don't doubt yourself.

Yes, "swimming" is a good word. That is exactly what I feel; a swimming sensation in different areas of my body. Sensation will go down my leg, then in my foot/heel, my toes, then suddenly I'll feel the sensation in my hip, my hand, my foot again, then something strange in my cheek.

Sometimes it feels like a feather was lightly passed over the area. Or, the butterfly sensations I felt when I was pregnant....Ugh! This is so aweful!

Thanks for the responses. Much appreciated. I don't feel so crazy afterall.
