It is "official". According to my Opthomologist, she just heard the stats for LD, Loudoun County VA is the 2nd largest epidemic area for LD in the country.

Funny, I don't know which is the largest!

No surprise to me. I got bit 3 times in Loudoun county, on a school playground while working as a teacher. The school nurse didn't know what the bite was and thought it was an allergic reaction to a gnat bite. Years later, after arthritis symptoms emerged and I tested positive for lyme antibodies, I called the school nurse to warn her to send any students or teachers with large red reactions from insect bites to the doctor to be checked and treated for lyme. Hopefully, all the school nursed in the county are getting the word.

Do you think you can get the source of that statistic? It would help to have an article to refer people to.

I would like to inform my new community, which is built around the habitat of a lot of deer. I see them everywhere at night and always drive with my bright lights on.

I would also like to know the source of this.
If it is new information, I would like to send this to my local group.

Which counties are Virginia Beach and Norfolk in? I lived there for 6 years.

I'm not sure of the counties for the locales you asked about. Wikipedia the cities, that should give you the info.
