My doctor sent me all my paper work back to have my blood drawn from Igenex.
He ordered the Initial Lyme Panels: Western Blot IgG, Western BLot IgM, Lyme PCR-SERUM. $390.00
What is the difference between the Basic Lyme Panel - Western Blot IgG, Western Blot IgM, Lyme IFA and the one he ordered. This one is 245.00
And should I test for Barbesiois for 125.00??
Thank you Julie

The basic lyme tests (IgG and IgM) are about 190.00.
Add the PCR and it's more expensive, but the chances go up a bit for a positive.
Add the babesia panel, (that's a common co-infection) and it's even more expensive, but you really should test for co-infections. If you have babesia, you would want to treat it first, as you won't get better from lyme until you do.
Most docs would be testing also for ehrlichia and bartonella and possibly other things; perhaps your doc is actually watching out for your pocketbook -- as sometimes the initial testing can cost close to 1,000!!!
However, these are a pretty reasonable start and I'd go for it.
Good luck!! At the cost of testing, you want to have the best chance there is of getting a positive if in fact you do have lyme. Re-do's are expensive!
