I have finished 3 months of orals and about to finish 3 months of iv. I have improved so much. Still I have so many issues.
Its seems when I list them they are symptoms of Barts, hurting feet, really stiff muscles etc.
What is the treatment for Barts.

I have been on Levaquin for 2 months...not much improvement.
Started Rifampin + doxycycline a few days ago.
Symptoms are hurting/burning feet and legs to a lesser extent.

I was treated with Rifampin and low dose Flagyl.
Be careful of Levaquin - even mild stretching can cause tendonitis (even in non-Lymies!!)

I'm starting on Levaquin today. I was told that if you are going to have tendon issues it will be a pain that is totally new and not related to any other symptoms. It is usually a few weeks after the medication.
I'm also told that as soon as you feel that pain, stop it. I'm told it's a four month treatment.
What dose Levaquin is everyone taking?

I'm taking 500 mg per day ... I am small.
I still take other meds for the Lyme.
I started having severe knee pain different than I had before. I called my LLMD immediately ... he said it sounded more like a herx, to keep taking it. His call was correct, it went away in a couple days.
He said in 20 years he's never had tendonitis from Levaquin start in the knees ... so, if you think you might have it, be sure to call your LLMD immediately ... mine called me back that same day ... I might add, he called me at 8PM, these guys work very hard for us. My pharmacist is amazed that the meds are always called in after 7PM ... he can't believe they work that long of hours.

Sixgoofykids, can you image dealing with hundreds of lymies on a daily basis?
They must be angels. Or crazy themselves?

Pam, they're both, I'm sure!!!
At my LLMD's office, 95% of them have/had Lyme including my LLMD (and his wife)! That explains a lot doesn't it? If I had any kind of medical degree, that's what I'd be doing ... and if I were younger, I'd be going for that degree!
My PA does not have it, but her sister does, so even those who don't have it have close experience with it.
