Ok, I'm really driving myself crazy here.

First, I have my phone consult scheduled with Dr. J on Saturday - it can't come soon enough.

My son's skin is still breaking out. As his pedi said it's dry skin, I'm putting a cream all over his body 2x per day to see if it helps or not by Saturday.

Also, my son has had 1 swollen lymph node behind his ear since June of this year. Now, this past weekend, another smaller one popped out.

We rushed to his pedi and she insisted that they were normal in size/shape, etc. and nothing to be concerned with.

He has no other symptoms. I'm driving myself CRAZY wondering if it's Lyme-related or not - the pimples and swollen lymph nodes.

It's so hard b/c he's 15 months old and cannot tell me if anything is giving him pain. Also, it's so hard to know if these are thing that he would have gotten anyways just being a 15 month old growing boy.

Any thoughts that could help ease my mind a bit? I'm seriously going to give myself an ulcer worrying about him [Frown]

Thanks so much for letting me talk about my concerns! I don't know what else to do - trust my pedi that he's ok?

It KILLS me that he was the one to be bitten by the tick and not me. What I would give to turn the tables around...

I sure wish i knew what to say other than i feel for you and wish i did. i guess the one thing i would say is listen to your gut and let your

mother insticts kick in. stop your mind from racing and listen to your gut...always follow your gut.....

my best to you....

I am sorry I do not reacall your previous post, but I know how you must feel.

Did your son have a known tick bite? It sounds like he did from what this post says.

did he get any ABX after the tick bite?

I think those answers would make a difference in my opinion.

I would say if there was no known tick bite then I would not be as worried, if there was then I would be nervous, if he didn't get ABX or the right ABX I would be more worried.

Sorry I am not sure if this response helps--

Good Luck, I hope it is just dry skin.

Thank you. My son did have a tick bite and developed the bulls eye rash. He was treated with 21 days of Amox.

He was taken to Dr. J in New Haven 3 months later. Dr. J really believed he was fine at that point.

Now I'm waiting for my phone consultation on Saturday to see if these things are related to the Lyme.

I'm ready to pull my hair out over this...

I am so sorry to hear, I think I remember now.

Well from what I hear Dr. J is the man! From what I hear I think I would trust what he has to say. But being a mom I know it must be hard.

I am sorry you and your son have to deal with this.

I agree that you should go with your gut at all times!

Keep us posted- Melissa

Gosh. I realize how frustrating and frightening this must be. [Eek!]

Take a deep breath. It is possible that he may need more treatment.

If wishes were money, I'd be at least a billionaire! [Big Grin]

Both my children have Lyme and probably both got it from me. [Frown]

I wish I had seen the tick that got me.....

It will be okay. Swollen lymph nodes can be Lyme related or bartonella related.

It could just be a different type of virus too.

Talk to Dr. J. It may be worth to request another trial of antibiotics to

See if it makes a difference for him.

Sending you and your son healing thoughts and prayers and hugs.

[group hug]

Hang in there. You are in good hands with Dr. J. I know how hard it is with a baby who is ill.

A few days will not make a huge difference if it is Lyme, but as a mother I can certainly understand your concern. [group hug]

Thank you all so much for your responses. Your kind words to ease my mind a bit and I appreciate it!

I really think overall that my son is ok, it's just the swollen lymph nodes (now 2 of them) that really are bothering me. I can't help but think of the darn tick bite/lyme disease every time that he gets sick.

It's so hard to know if he would have gotten these things anyways regardless of the tick bite, or if the Lyme is the underlying cause. I will post back after my phone call with Dr. J on Saturday.

Thanks again SO MUCH [Smile]

Only when a parent doesn't worry do we have to wonder about their sanity and ability to be a parent.

Yeah I just made that saying up.. but it was pretty good, eh?

[Big Grin]

You said.. "He was taken to Dr. J in New Haven 3 months later. Dr. J really believed he was fine at that point."

Actually.. after all these years and thousands of kids... I've never known Dr. Jones to be wrong.

Well, except for that ONE time... you know... that annoying court case which was brought against him by idiot ducks, dummies and a brain dead medical board.

He WAS wrong that time I reckon.

I mean HOW DARE HE think that treating TWO sick children and getting them well again would be the RIGHT thing to do!!! SHAME SHAME!!!

I'm sure he will go to heaven someday for that one!!!

[Big Grin]

Good luck with the appointment. Please tell Dr. Jones that Tincup said she loves him! He is the best!

[Big Grin]
