this may sound totally superficial but i am wondering about doing botox. my lyme is pretty darned bad, but my philosophy is i may as well die pretty. what is your take on the botulism in the face? i would rather cop a forehead crinkle than get worse.

My theory is that with a compromised immune system, you don't need any more toxins in you.

Just because you are ill there is no reason why you should still not want to look pretty or stop caring about yourself.

Why not try something like the CACI Face Lift - It's natuaral, is a microcurrent which can help the nerve and muscle problems with lyme (originally used for ells palsy sufferers) and costs a lot less, also relaxing and no pain - it really works - get them to plug you in to the mechanical Lymp drainage at the same time, which really will help you

BOtulism TOXin ...that's enough to scare me away.

Ask your LLMD. We're not physicians and can't give medical advice.

...also, the face is too close to the brain for my comfort.

I have tried Botox and love it.

I have really bad frown lines since the lyme.

I want rid of them too.

I am like you. If it would set back my Lyme, not worth it. But I really want to do it.

No... just no.

In my opinion, anti-lyme protocols are anti-aging protocols. Stay with the program that helps you to end this illness.

Proper diet is also a great influence as is acupuncture, yoga, hydration. And if feasible, saunas and/or footbaths should also help you to stay youthful naturally for a long time.

Google Elos technology ... it's a non-toxic option for skin tighening .... it was featured on Rachel Ray.

I would not inject toxins into myself ... especially not with Lyme.

Before getting diagnosed with Lyme the neurologists thought I had chronic tension headache and decided to try botox on me to see if they could relax my pericranial muscles. Not only it didn't relax anything but it increased my nerve pain all over my head and face.
I certainly wouldn't recommended it.
We already have a toxic body from all the die off I think botox would weaken the immune system even more.

My forehead was all crinkled up when I first was diagnosed - Dr. S even told me to stop crinkling it up - I couldn't help it.

I later realized it wasn't just the Lyme. The electromagnetic field exposure I had subjected myself to while driving to and from my infusions were signaling my facial muscles to crinkle up. This still happens today.

It isn't just the Lyme - electrosmog is causing women to 'age'. Your brain sends signals to your facial muscles to contract in response to a stimulus - the stimulus was supposed to only include emotional stimuli and perhaps sunlight - not cell phone tower stimuli.

Like OMG, a LymeNet Botox party. [Big Grin]

Seriously, my LLMD mentioned that he had patients try it for chronic headaches with mixed results.

Botox is the ONLY thing that helps my tmj pain. My lyme doctor knows I do botox injections and never suggested it's a problem. I really don't know how to cope with the TMJ pain without botox.
