I have panic attacks with my Lyme and heard they can get worse from treatment (Herx). The ones I've had I can't stand. I'm terrified to start treatment now.

Anybody else have panic from Herx???

My panic attacks actually got better once I started doxycycline.

I have had a few in the past two or three months, but just started doxy again and

So far so good.

Some people who have panic/anxiety attacks as part of their herx.

Me, I just feel like a mack truck has run over me twice!

Maybe your treatment will let those anxiety/panic attacks fade away.

I do know how horrible they are.

If it gets worse or too much, call your LLMD.

They will know how to help you through it.

We're always here too. [Big Grin]

I'm not a doctor so can only speak from my own personal experience. For me, I did start having horrid horrid anxiety issues before I was actually diagnosed with lyme, along with my other systems.

And yes, some were panic attacks that totally would wake me up at night, so the thought of hearing my herxes could make my symptoms up to three times worse, I do recall talking to my LLMD about my fears.

For me, I was concerned about the chest pain that I had felt I couldn't take anything worse. But although herxes aren't fun, for me personally, the symptoms that have gotten worse, atleast so far, are not the ones that were in the forefront and the ones that would have been the hardest to handle.

I do think during this that I do have it effecting the anxiety but oddly, I wouldn't say that they have been flairing like some things. Also, they say that some symptoms just get better.

That could also be the case for you. So from one person with anxiety to another, take a bunch of deep breaths, take your meds and chances are, it isn't going to be the exact way you fear anyway.

And keep the focus that it is reversing symptoms and it gets us through it. GOOD LUCK and please keep us posted.

Thanks to both of you for your response.

I pray my symptoms get better. I, like you, can't imagine them getting worse. I can take fatigue and flu-like symptoms, but can't stand having a resting pulse rate of over 200 and all that other crap!

I seem to only have these symptoms after being physically worn out, like after a workout. It never seems to be mental. It's always physical. The only person who believes that is my LLMD.

Thanks again,
Kevin

Just think about the fact that the abx may CURE you of panic attacks! That should motivate you!!

Quite a few patients on the Marshall Protoocol report suffering from tachycardia & anxiety. I've had a few episodes of tachycardia but they have completely resolved on the MP!

Beware that some antibiotics can indeed make neuro symptoms worse, so it is important to take the right antibiotics at the right time during your treatment!
