My LLMD warned me about herxing, and that it just meant my body was healing. I feel naucious occasionaly, and i have vertigo...and all those other lyme symtoms, but i dont feel so bad that i cant continue on with my day. I kinda want a good herx, just so i know im starting to heal..it makes me kinda nervous that i dont feel horrible all the time. I need reasurance.

I want a herx about as much as I want my toes squashed under a monster truck tire.

If you really want a bad herx you can have mine.. for free!

I have no clue how long you've had Lyme... if you have.. how long you've been treated... what you've been taking... and many other factors.

I just know that you need to be REAL careful what you wish for around here... and don't count your chickens before they hatch.

Feel HAPPY you are not super sick or in the hospital... as many of us have been.

You don't HAVE to herx to see improvement.

Good luck!

I've never had a bad herx, many apparently don't. I too was at a spot where I really wanted one, just to ensure that what I was doing was actually killing something! I have little herxes when I start a new med, but mostly just gradual improvement.

Hey there! How are you?

- - - Like TC said:

Other than feeling pretty extra bad for about one week after 4-5 days taking my first doxy, I don't think I ever had another 'classic' herx as described by posters. But suddenly, after 9 months of taking doxy, I was extremely sick for the entire month of October! Just coming out of it now. I - think - it - was - a - - - herx!! I'd been wondering, just like you. And now I wish I didn't know!

As I say, up until then, my progress had been slow but steady, and I wondered about the herx thing and asked my LLMD about it. He has seen the slow/steady improvement course sans- herxes many times, as well as the frequent-herx type course.

Best to you, and here's hoping your lucky streak continues (and MINE returns!!)

I didn't herx for the first 15 (or so) months of treatment I just got better or had little slips back but nothing major. Then when I was feeling pretty darn good most of the time we added in Bicillin injections and the first one knocked me on my butt and I wanted to die for 3 days.

The next injections were nothing like that, thank goodness, but I have continued to improve.

We are all individual. I was happy to get better and better.
