Being that I'm a slender guy [5'10", 155 lbs.], what is the typical dosage of Doxy required, to rid ones self of Lyme? I saw where IGENEX protocol states 28 days for the term, but I was wondering what the dosage usually amounts to.

I haven't been diagnosed as yet, but I want to gather some facts, in case my symptoms/tests do prove it is Lyme.

To steal an old post of Trueblues-
QUOTE:
I think the doxy dose is 100mg per 50 pounds.

At 150ish (ok, on a good day) I'd need at least 300 mgs. (I think that would be low end.)

I believe Doxy is bacteriastatic at 200mg and bacteriacidal at higher doses.

UNQUOTE!!! Thank you TB!*)!)*!

p.s. But different things work for different people- I was on 400 mg a day at 112 pounds!!!
At 300 I would decline (but I was ultra-bad neuro Lyme, this was what I switched to after IV Rocephin-) So it depends on the person, too!!!!

I was on 400 mg for 125 pounds.

My daughter is on 300 mg. for 100 pounds.

I believe 400mg is the standard dose for lyme. That's what I am taking at 115 lbs

Dr. B's guidelines say 300-600 mg/day, with no mention of weight.
