I'm glad to report that I've had several good days in the past week or two.

I still have some fatigue, pain/soreness in my hips, and some heel pain, but it's much better.

I was very discouraged recently, then I had a couple of days without hip pain. Now I've had a cold without any Lyme symptoms. It seemed to last forever, but I didn't get achey.

It's nice to get a glimpse of almost normal!

I removed 2 ticks one week apart in June 2006. A couple days after the 2nd bite I developed the red rash. It looked like a mosquito bite at first, then enlarged to 7 by 4 inch oval.

I also developed pain in my hips at the same time as the rash.

I started doxycycline within 48 ours of getting the rash, but it was a low dose of only 100 mg every 12 hours for 10 days.

My PCP trivialized my concern over the bite & rash, so I got into a LLMD's office within 2 weeks. I've been in treatment since July 2006.

I was probably exposed to Lyme much longer than I realize...I grew up in an endemic county and live in an endemic county.

hshbmom,

Wow...thanks so much for sharing. It really does give those of us that are still struggling some hope.

I just crossed my one year mark and my bubble popped since I honestly thought I would be up and running after a full year, but I wasn't and I was really down in the dumps.

I had many tell me that I shouldn't give up hope since quite often that turning point comes months later after a that full year of horror and your note is one that helps give that inspiration.

You keep hanging in there and plugging away and continue to keep us updated. I love to hear these stories and I think it's good for all of us so we will keep pushging through this nightmare.

Cathy

So good to hear you are feeling much better than you were.... I know getting a cold and not having the lyme go crazy is a big deal.

[woohoo]
