Hi everyone, I'm back again with another question. You all have been SOO helpful in the past, and I'm hoping you could help me again.
The last time I was here, I had a phone call with Dr. J. He really thought that my 1 year old son was ok, THANK GOODNESS!!!
However, I can't seem to get the thought that there still might be Lyme or a co-infection lingering out of my mind.
He still has 2 swollen lymph nodes behind his ear. Dr. J wasn't concerned with these. I can't help but wonder if it perhaps could be Bart.
So, should I still go with Dr. J in thinking that he's ok? Or do you think I have bloodwork done through IGENEX for him?
Dr. J would be fine if I want to do the bloodwork. I haven't done it b/c Dr. J was really confident that he's fine.
I am so paranoid about my son, that every time he gets something as little as a runny nose, I can't help but think back to the Lyme.
Any suggestions on what you would do if it were your son? And Dr. J says he ok? Or am I just really paranoid?

Hi!
I'm not going to advise you either way on whether you should have your son tested.
The only thing I will say is I remember my daughter being that age and having a couple swollen lymph nodes behind her ears. Felt like hard bumps. I think they lasted a few months.
Doc said kids get that and not to worry. Of course I did. But they did go away.
We're practically neighbors! I'm in Oxford.
PM if you want to say hello.

I would have to say that as a parent you should trust your instincts.
If you test and it is negative then you get peace of mind.
If you don't test then you get worry, worry, and more worry.
I think I knew in my heart of hearts that both my babies had Lyme.
I kept thinking maybe it was just them emulating me and my symptoms.
I had them tested. They both had Lyme specific bands.
I knew.
I've taken my daughter to her pediatrician with no other complaint from her than a runny nose,
To find out she had full blown strep throat. No fever. No complaints of sore throat.
I just had this feeling something was wrong.
I say even though he isn't my Doctor, I think very highly of Dr. J.
However, trust your instincts. The cost of the test will be well worth your peace of mind.
Hugs,
Geneal

In all things, follow the path with HEART not FEAR!!! If your heart says do it, then do it. If your fear says dont then do it, what are you afraid of here? That it will be positive or that it will be negative and someone may say "see, I told you"?
