Yikes!!!
That'd make me so paranoid.

Be careful. It's been unseasonably warm and humid for this time of the year in the tri-state area. Lots of ticks everywhere.
Don't forget full body tick checks every night.

do you still have it where you could get it checked for lyme/co-infecions?

Someone from New Hampshire reported a while back that when she used grapefruit oil extract on herself, the dog, the house and the yard, no more ticks.
Which brings up the issue of protection, possibly through essential oils, or whatever you choose to use. For example, TKO Orange, from oranges, kills and repels bugs.

For me, it's not the one I see and find,
It's the ones I don't.
Step on it and put it out of your misery.
Hugs,

Damminix tick tubes in my yard have helped alot. I haven't seen or found any ticks on me or my cats since spring.

I wouldn't of gone to bed until my father, the dog and every surface of the house was vacuumed and cleaned.
Tick paranoid? YOU BET I AM!

A black legged western tick once crawled out of store bought strawberries I bought and fell right into my sink...it was what I thought it was.
Wash your fruits and vegetables - soak them first.

Hm -- I haven't seen much discussion here about ticks on store-bought food, flowers purchased, etc -- do any more folks here know of more incidences?

Why not send the tick out to be analyzed? My husband had one analyzed this past year at a reasonable cost. Remember it is easier to test tick than people. Alterantively, you could put the tick in a zip lock bag in the freezer.
