Dh and kids started Mepron on Sunday night. Kids are doing great. Dh - not so much. This is a guy who never gets sick, not even a cold, and he looks terrible.

This is day 4 of Mepron and Zith.
He's also taking Silver Biotics, vit C, multi, omegas, Provex-CV, probiotics.

What can we do to help him through this?
Lots of water?
Detox? - (what kind)
Xango?
Acai?
Goji?

If it might help, we'll try it.

I think fresh lemon is supposed to be great for a herx but I've never tried it and don't know the specifics.

Alka seltzer and baking soda in water always helped me.

Rest, lack of responsibilities; lemon water, and hot epsom salt baths with baking soda, these things help. Watching funny movies and not having to do much really helps.

I second what Vermont said.

Squeeze a whole lemon in a glass of water ... then have him brush his teeth so it doesn't mess up the enamel.

Drink lots of water.

I find parsley and burbur help with herx symptoms ... nutramedix.com.

Coffee enemas help me, too ... strange, but it helps.

I gave my son lemon water or lemonade and a very small amount of detox tea,(Tincup's Tea Recipe) but if the herxing was really bad for him he had to stop abx for a few days.

I learned later that Chlorella was very good for detox also.

This is not medical advise, just sharing my personal experience, hope your son feel better soon.

Well he came home from work and basically went to bed - leaving me with the kids. [shake] How's that for letting go of some responsibilities? [Wink] I'm hoping he will take the day off work tomorrow and rest. Hopefully he's not even worse. I don't know how I will manage to take care of him AND the kids if its more than a day or so. [Frown] I just can't stand to see him feeling so terrible.

I'll pick up the epsom salt and lemons tomorrow. Thanks!

My doc recommended Chlorella way back when, but I got so confused over what kind and where to order that I gave up on it.

I like Solaray's chlorella - 2-3 capsules daily (I take one with each meal). Look for one with broken cell walls - they are most effective.

Xango is incredible, but then I'm "prejudiced"!

There's also a very inexpensive product called Tri-Salts. You can probably find it on the net. If you can't, I'll give you a website that would have it.

Chlorella helped me through my hardest herxes too.

There is an herb called Burbur that you can buy online from nutramedix. It is supposed to help reduce herxes. It made me nauseous, but that's not supposed to be common.
