I've been doing a lot of stuff for the lyme, hitting it pretty hard. Thing is I've become really sick since thanksgiving which could be stress related along with herx. I'm not coping well at all and am actually not feeling like myself. It seems to be seriously effecting me mentally and I honestly hate to even admit it...
I hope someone has some input here.. I could sure use it.
Thanks for reading...

Yeah, the mental stuff goes with the flares sometimes. In the first few months of treatment I always knew when a herx was coming because I'd cry over something .... and before I seldom cried.
Try to do something about the stress .... it really aggravates the Lyme. It will be hard to get better if you don't eliminate it as best you can.
The crazy mental stuff gets better as you do.

Yep - I often felt like I was going crazy - waited a few times for them to just come and put that little white coat on me and take me away.
There were even some days I wished they would!!!! Just to give me a break!!
But it does get better!
Try some Tai Chi or Yoga...it is amazing what it does for you!
I felt like an idiot when I first started doing it but it did help the stress levels a lot!
Hang in there!!!!!!!!

Yes, I have felt crazy when not doing well or when herxing. I found that I needed to do something to ground myself, and for me that usually means spend time in nature and with animals.
Laying on the earth helps.

I have felt crazy, extremely depressed or OCD when I start meds. It is very common from what I can see. Sometimes even a manic high that is followed by a crash!
I think it depends on the meds and which infection they are treating. For example, mepron will make me depressed and paranoid at first, zith will make me anxious, plaquenil and biaxin make me cry incessantly.
But usually the emotional herxes are the aspects of the mental symptoms of the disease that get better with that particular treatment regimen, from what I have seen.
Now I know in advanced (from experience) which combos are going to make me emotionally imbalanced and how, for the most part, and I adjust my psych meds accordingly so I can get through the herxes.
Good luck. Just remember that it DOES get better, and when you go off of those meds, you will usually feel so much better in those areas that it has triggered!

Yes, sometimes during the really bad years I didn't recognize me.

Aloha,
Yes, I too have felt/feel this crazY-ness at times! Like I really have lost my mind! It too was hard to admit-
When I'm herxing or going through a hard cycle...it's very frustrating, depressing, upsetting, confusing, scary...
At first I thought it would never pass...but as treatment progressed...I saw a breaks and improvment...and then another crazy spell...and then a rest, peace...and then more...but the 'hits' arent' as bad...
It's easier now to deal with, cause I know it will pass and I'm HEALING!
You're not alone...and you are not crazy...try and feed love to yourself...understand you are on a gnarly journey that is tough and you are DOING a GREAT JOB! smiles...
I'm with Robin on this- grounding myself helps trmendously! It's really all I got in the time of a crazy spell.....
Music helps...lye down and listen to calming meditative music...stretch and breathe....Qi Gong really is great...and of course yoga...
I have these two rocks that fit in my hands and I hold, squeeze and feel their hardness, strength and groundedness -- really grounds and centers me...it feels nice..
Albatross nest by my house on the bluff....I'll go sit with them....the crazyness drifts off in the tradewinds...smiles
Playing music...drums, flute, guitar, ukulele, harp...anything...it's really nice
Also, your voice...sing, chant, yell , scream- whatever- release that energy--- smiles....
Much Love-
Fawne

I'm not picking on you, but why haven't women questioned why it's always the *men* in white coats carrying the crazy women away? Are we that much of a threat to them?
In fact, to prove I'm for equal rights, 'I' want to ride up on my white horse and carry my prince off into the sunset one day.

In my experience with the mental health and medical industries, mindless bumbling stupidity transcends all gender and racial barriers.
