I just started Levaquin about 5 days ago for Bart.I have alot of dizziness. I was wondering how long Levaquin has taken to work for those of you on it. I feel like I'm on a boat 24/7 and praying for the Levaquin to start working. I am also on 400 doxy a day. Thank you.

I don't know....but check out the side effects of quinolones like Levaquin.
www.drugdigest.com Did you have dizziness BEFORE the Levaquin?

It took about 2 months for me to see a difference on Levaquin. I had been on abx for 5 months prior to starting Levaquin.

I felt worse for about 6 weeks on the Levaquin, then started seeing improvement. I saw a LOT of improvement on it, it was a GREAT drug for me.
It was the cognitive stuff that got particularly bad in the beginning on the Levaquin .... also some aches.
I took it for 12 weeks and have now switched to Rifampin.

Dizziness is a side effect of levaquin, and a sign of central nervous system toxicity, but if you had it before, and of the same intensity, it would be difficult to discern lyme from an adverse effect.
To help you to tell if there is a difference of your symptoms that points towards a levaquin reaction, I would also suggest to check the list of side effects of levaquin, avalaible on many sites.
That would allow you to take the right decision and take levaquin to fight the bug if you come to the conclusion that it is not affecting you, or avoid taking it if you feel you are getting intoxicated, because some of the injuries caused by levaquin are irreversible.
No easy though as 90% of symptoms of levaquin toxicity and lyme are identical.
