Could someone please advise.... Should you not take Mepron and Doxy together at all, or is it that you should not take them together at the same time. What is the mode of interaction between these two? Anne

I take Mepron/Azithromax and doxy. My LLMD is supposed to be one of the best on the west coast. I assume he wouldn't give me drugs that interacted poorly together.

Hi,
I had this same dilemma a while back - if you do a search you'll see posts on it -
- was already on Malarone, Zith and Art for Babs and my LLMD suggested adding Doxy.
I had read all the literature saying not to take the two together, and brought it to the attention of my LLMD - sent him detailed links etc.
He is a very well-known and respected LLMD in Upstate NY with alot of Babs experience, and he assured me that he has been using this combo for many many years and in his experience, it works well when used with Zith.

Tetracyclines is a family of antibiotics, that includes doxycline. See:
According to the manufacturer's pharmacist, Doxy can lower blood levels of mepron by as much 40%!! They gave me a number that my doctor could call to talk to the pharmacist about it.

At the cost of mepron, I asked him to take me off of doxy ASAP! I can't afford multiple rounds of mepron at $1,200+ per month.

Teryy...I get my Mepron from www.canadadrugs.com for around $550 per 210 ml. Excellent service and support from this company. I have used them for all my meds for around 18 months Anne
