Can an extended treatment of doxy, then Zithromax/Mepron have any effect on Bart?
Or do you need to specifically target Bart with its own abx?

In most cases of bartonella you need to treat it specifically. Though it is a bacterial infection, doxy and zithromax are not effective in killing the bartonella bug.
The preferred meds are cipro and levaquin.

Plaquenil does not go after the bart.
Levaquin, Cipro, and Rifampin are used for bart.

According to the Doxy insert it kills Bartonella. Zithro may also help, as Biaxin (sister drug) killed Bart in me, it took one year.
Plaquenil has been used as a cyst buster sometimes. Also for joint pain.

Doxy and Rifampin are used in a combo against bartonella.
