My son had a significant case of babesiosis.
We treated with about a year with a break in
between with Mepron and Zith.

He also has been treated for lyme and bart.

Off abx for a year and has continued to improve
and is feeling good. He is 14 and one day last
month pronounced himself well!

He has elevated liver enzymes and overweight.
New naturopath prescribed astralagus to help
liver. He became listless and cranky and back
to what he was like before treatment.
Symtoms look identical to babesia herx.

Same reaction to milk rhistle.

LLMD's opinion is that our goal at this pt is
quality of life so why stir it up. She had not
seen this situation before or didn't mention it at any rate.

Naturopath's response was to switch to different
plant-based supplement that he has same reaction
to. Haven't been back to see her yet.

Has anyone had a similar reaction? My daughter
also has elevated liver enzymes. She herxed
all over the place on the supplement with
milk thistle and alpha lipoic acid. She has
trouble tolerating abx and I am going to talk
to new LLMD about possibility of toxicity build
as a factor there.

They are slowly improving overall. What do you
think? This issue has not been at the top of
the list to address, but I am considering
moving it up, so to say.

This got long!

I certainly wouldn't want to stir things up! Especially since he's improving! Why mess with a good thing?

How about trying stuff for detox, like coffee enemas? They're certainly not appealing but I notice a BIG difference in how I feel and they're supposed to be good for detoxing the liver.
