This is terrible... I gave myself the first abx shot yesterday. At first no problems (except the sore thigh and leg) but after 5 hours or so I got very bad stinging and burning all over the body, like there were acid just under the skin.. and its still continuing. I never had this problem when taking this same stuff orally.
The abx I'm using is not a chemical drug, its made of a molecule taken out of bee propolis. Its supposed to be very effective, they use this expensive stuff in some private clinics in Sweden; they even treat cancer patiets with this. My ND always uses this stuff with her Lyme patients and has had good results (I am the exception though). She also says that its about 10 times more effective when its taken as an injection (especially with me because I have bad absorption problems).
Anyway, has anyone experienced this after an abx injection? And how long did it last? I guess there has to be a massive die-off happening and the die-off toxins are causing this symptom (thats what my doc thought too)
Thanks and happy new year

Are you talking about a pharmaceutical antibiotc or some kind of 'natural' thing?
In either case though, I would call an emergency doctor as you might be having an allergic reaction.
Have you tried an antihistamine to see if it helps also?
Antibiotic intramuscular injections are usually not given in the thigh.

i agree with dontlikeliver, it could be an allergic reaction. I would get it checked out.
You said it is taken from bees. Did you get tested to see you werent allergic to bees before it was given too you. Some people can have a severe allergy to be stings.

Thanks for the responses. Its a "natural" thing and I'm certainly not allergic to it since I have been taking it orally for over a year without any problems whatsoever. I guess it just have to be a herx, I have had same reaction with chemical abx.

You can develop an allergy to a substance any time. And I assume in order to make whatever you're taking into a liquid form for injecting, other additives are probably added, which you can be allergic to also.

Don't take another med until you know your vitamin D level...

The question is-do you get this burning and stinging under other circumstances. If so then it is highly unlikely that it is the antibiotics.
I used to get this from any IV drug I took. Now I am not on any antibiotics and if I exercise I get it and going in a sauna the other day triggered it. I believe it is either neurotoxins or metals or the bacteria. When I find out I will let you know. It is truly a horrtible symptom, especially when it feels like your skin is on fire.

I have taken this exactly same liquid orally, only smaller dosages. I think this big dosage really kicked some borrelia butt and now the toxins from them are all over the place. In fact I think they are now having party in my brain because I suddenly got bad anxiety.
Yes I'm waiting for that vit D results, should get it any day now.
amkdiaries: Yes! I do get this symptom under other circumstances as well, just not this intense. It really can be pure torture. I believe it might be the neurotoxins or metals too.
