My son was treated for Lyme in 2002. At that time he had been quite sick and had a bulls-eye rash. His treatment started with a month of antibiotics and then he was treated with homeopathic remedies for many months. He has had many GI symptoms over the years since then. He is intolerant to gluten, dairy, eggs, soy and a few other foods. This fall he started to have foot and joint pain.

Here are my son's recent IGeneX WB results:
IGM Positive
31 +
39 IND
41 ++

IGG Positive
34 IND
39 +
41 +++

His LLMD recommended we consider running the IGenex Lyme band 30/31 confirmatory test. Has anyone done this test? Is it necessary? I think the LLMD was thinking it might be more supportive for insurance. However, our LLMD is out of network and we most likely can not do antibiotics because of my son's very sensitive gut. We are starting with samento.

Thanks for any thoughts.

Personally- because band 39 is positive- that'd be enough confirmation for me.

But if it's an insurance question- you should probably run it by your insurance company.
