My legs are hurting when I walk too far (about 2 blocks) I was like this when I had heart failure 5 years ago.
But I have also been very short of breath for almost a year. last year at this time I was ballroom dancing. now i get pains in my legs walking 2 blocks
many of my symptoms have gone away on the antibiotics, but some havent
the LLMD is sayign I need to go to a pulmonologist, but isn't this a cardiac problem? why dont they have cardio-pulmonary specialists? it should be one field!
last time i went he said he was going to start babs tx next time, but now he is saying "not everythign is lyme"
if i go off the doxy or even go down to half dose i get fever back. i havent tried to go off the rifampin or biaxin.

Hmmm, interesting what you are experiencing. Could be heart probs and /or lungs.
Babesia is known to make people short of breath. (been there done that- 3x treatment thanx very much!!)....and my legs felt like lead weights, but I never experienced pain.
You should get checked out immediately.....could be blockages too....which lymies with sticky blood/hypercoagulation are none to have.
Please don't wait, and come back soon and give us an update!!!

My legs and feet hurt after walking a good five or so blocks (which I actually just did today at a health expo and, right now, my legs and knees hurt and are extremely weak and I was sooooo exhausted afterwards, wanted to sit down most of the time -- Probably will pay for this tomorrow for overdoing it!! ). I also get shortness of breath when walking that much. I'm only 24 years old, and I'm pretty sure I don't have heart failure (I've also had many, many heart tests done in the past because of heart palps, shortness of breath and tachycardia and those were fine). I chalk it up to being my Lyme and Bart.
But since you've had heart failure before, I think you should definitely see a cardiologist or pulmonary specialist -- listen to your LLMD!
Better to be safe and just sure about everything.
Hope you feel better soon and get this checked out. Posted by dguy (Member # 8979) on :
I experienced a period of extreme leg weakness: climbing a single flight of stairs would leave the muscles burning with exhaustion.
Despite my thyroid hormone tests coming back normal, a doctor let me try T3 thyroid hormone supplementation. The leg weakness disappeared by the next day. It returns if I stop taking T3.
Since beginning to treat the infection, I've been able to reduce the amount of T3 I need.

I have had weakness too, but that is a different kind of feeling. weakness feels like my muscles just wont keep going, liek they are exhausted.
this is just pains. and they go away when i rest and put my feet up. I am not as swollen up with fluid retention as I was when i had the heart failure, but slightly swollen.
i know its probably the fibrin/coagulatin/sticky blood thing, its not cholesterol since mine is 152 with good ratio.

Roro, Are you taking CoEnzyme Q10?
This supplement is necessary for the cells to make energy, and it can help to reverse heart failure.
You can google for articles.

Your lungs AND your heart or just one can do that to you, just as you described.
When I had mycoplasma pneumonia, I had the same exact symptoms as you described.
Please get your lungs AND heart checked out.

Pain only when walking can be signs of circulation impairment-esp if it is OK when you sit or lie down. You really should get it checked out.
