A nurse friend of mine mentioned this to me. Here is website:

http://www.theamazonacaiberry.com/

It sounds like it might be another good way to detox and build up the immune system.

I'd appreciate any feedback or personal experience.

Thanks.

I would drink the juices I bought at Wild Oats once in a while. They are supposed to have the highest antioxidants of all fruit.

They were pretty good juices, but I don't know that I could pinpoint them doing anything specific my diet and supplements aren't already doing.

I think they are good, because fruit is good, and antioxidants are good, but I don't think you'll see any miracles from them.

Expensive, nutritious and tasty. But not a cure for anything...

Thanks for all of the input...I didn't want to "waste" anymore money on false hope...

What about Mangosteen? Is that the same general concept?

I drink an ounce of this each morning (for the last 4 yrs:

I swear every month that I'm not going to reorder it, yet I always do. I just feel so much more energetic in the am (and my allergies are so much more under control when I drink it daily).

I have a friend with Lyme-like sx (i think undiagnosed Lyme) who swears by the acai. His joint pains etc have gone away since starting it. He was turned onto it by a Lyme friend of his who has it. He gave me a cap to try but I am afraid... I have to ponder new supplements etc,. for about a year before I try them bc of my history of horrible reactions.

He takes the capsule form - a company that his friend said is the best, but which escapes me now. I can try and look it up because I wrote it down somewhere...

OK - It is by Swanson. That is pretty surprising because I think that Swanson is along the lines of Doctor's Trust - like generic-like supplements, but I could be wrong. But the bottle did not look fancy or anything.

That is all I know. I would say it is worth a shot??? Let us know if you do and how it works. He has been trying to get me to take it for a long time! But instead I keep this purple capsule on my counter and walk by it every day and think... hmmmm I wonder if I'll ever get around to that! I would feel more comfortable taking a capsule than the juice bc I think it would have less sugar??

luvdogs: you're funny. I'm the same way about anything new.

I took one milk thistle and my right eye swelled up. I'm like an alien with supplements.

That's why I was taking a poll...to see if it's even worth it. My LLMD said he prefers mangosteen over acai but I'm sure it's totally subjective.

I think I need to calm down and use what's already IN my cabinet! [bonk]

That is what we are - supplement and meds aliens! I had about 2 oz of noni juice the first (and only) time I tried it. They said to start slow, but it tasted so good, I was at 2 oz. before I knew it.

That night was one of my scariest Lyme nights - and the reaction proceeded to last about a week! All brain stuff.

My friend had wanted me to join his "multi-level" thingy so much - even though he knew I was very opposed to them to start with. But after my bad reaction I was able to explain to him that there was no way I could ever sell something that almost killed me! That got him to stop pressuring me finally!

That is why I sit and look at that purple capsule... and will continue to do so until I have been very stable for some time, so I will be able to figure out what caused what!

We are very tricky ones.

At least it helps you pass the time...staring at the purple capsule. [Big Grin]

Maybe that's the cure - all we have to do is stare at the purple capsule.

IN that case, you should definitely get the acai!

You would have a fight on your hands if you were to try taking my mangosteen away from me. I've been off abx for 3 yrs now and it has been a Godsend.

Dr James Duke on the activities of garcinia mangostana [mangosteen]:

As for the pill form of mangosteen or any "off brands" .. forget it. I know people who have tried them and got basically nowhere.

Robin123 likes the mangosteen on Vitacost, but I can't remember the brand. (Ultra??) I also wonder if some of her results are from the minerals contained in the product as well.

As for me, I will stick to the "real deal"! [Cool]

Thanks, Lymetoo...I think I'll try the Mangosteen and

Luvdogs: I will definitely buy the acai berry purple caspsule so, I too, can hold a vigil.

You both gave me a good laugh today! Thanks.

Clarissa

Totally understand.

I love the fact that it's purple, too.

Have a great night!
