Anyone tried this? I heard from an LLMD that this can be used instead of Cholestyramine or Questran for detoxing.
It's supposed to be easier on the stomach.
Any input would be appreciated!

Awful stuff. Within a few days on it I developed all kinds of new pains including bad bone pains. I'm not the only one here with this negative experience.

Thanks for your input Barton & Kelly.
I'm doing okay on the cholestyramine. I have some stomach irritation but nothing a good old fashioned pepcid ac doesn't help.
Kelly: Have you tried cholestyramine? It's really not that bad.
Once again, no cookie cutter answers for anyone!

Does anybody know the correct way to spell this stuff? I have to start taking it and do not know where to get it from.
Thanks, Lindsay

Look up "nanotek chitosan" - you can get it off the internet.

I have been using it, Clarissa.
I called the manufacturer & they said that you have to take it 4 hours before or after taking other medications, supplements.
It's kind of inconvenient but the nutritionist at Allergy Research said it was really worthwhile to take for Lyme. She may be biased, though.
It can absorb anything you take making any supplements or drugs null.
I take it very late at night.
I have been alternating it with Welchol.
Welchol tends to make me constipated but Nanotek Chitosan does the opposite.
I have not tried chlorestramine but I think Welchol is similar.
That's what my doctor said. He gave me a bunch of samples - so, I just have been using them since it was free.
I'm still in the thick of things so it's hard to tell how well it's working.
I think I have years of spirochete build-up to get rid of. It takes time...
I have been in alot of pain lately. I don't think it's the Nanotek Chitosan, though.
I think the Cumanda (Cowden protocol) is very powerful & it's making me herx alot.
PS- It's important to supplement with oil based vitamins like A,D, E & K. These seem to be absorbed when using binding products like chitosan.
