I have heard 14 days and 28 days. Anyone know the "total" life of a shot of Bicillin? I know when I did them before, I herxed at least a month after stopping. But don't know if that is the cumulative effect of many shots or not.
Thanks.

For anyone else wondering:
Bicillin L-A
"Penicillin G benzathine has an extremely low solubility and, thus, the drug is slowly released from intramuscular injection sites. The drug is hydrolyzed to penicillin G. This combination of hydrolysis and slow absorption results in blood serum levels much lower but much more prolonged than other parenteral penicillin's. Intramuscular administration of 300,000 units of penicillin G benzathine in adults results in blood levels of 0.03 - 0.05 units per mL, which are maintained for 4 to 5 days. Similar blood levels may persist for 10 days following administration of 600,000 units and for 14 days following administration of 1,200,000 units."

Hi dana, I saw Dr. S today. I don't know anything about Bicillin's half-life but I'll tell you one thing: I AM BITTER AT THAT USELESS DRUG!
I've been shooting twice a week, been on since SEPTEMBER!
And my CD57 DROPPED (yes, DROPPED!) from 26 to 20 over the last two months.
So I don't know if it did anything for me. My ear pain's gone, but besides that, I'd say the Lyme won the battle in my body. Alas, alas, alas.........
PS Dr. S says I get IV probably in two months! I'm happy for that. You??
