HELP!
Today I have been feeling worse and the tums and everything aren't even touching the pain now... The pain I have now is like a dagger right in the ribs and hurts extremely bad. I can't take this pain much longer! My stool has also changed to a pale color. Could this be my gallbladder? I am really worried about this because of the increasing pain I don't even know if I can take it through the night. This is miserable! Let me know what you think.

YES can be your gallbladder but also LIVER if your stool is changing color. Keep the stool if you can if it is grey-yellow, grey, white or silvery. Very pale stools area are signs of liver distress and regaridng pain- could be gallbladder distress re the pain- or referred pain from somehwere else- get it checked out!!!

I would call your doc asap!!!
Don't panic,
But always best to be extra careful
especially when it's YOU,
you're precious, kiddo-
Take care,
Sarah

Sarah is right about the liver.

Are you following a good diet, free of fats??

Look up the gallbladder on the internet and find out which foods to avoid. It will help!!!

Otherwise, head to the ER!

This can be (or not) transitory Lyme hepatitis or something like that- not abx related at all- when my daughter first got sick, PRE-treatment, among her many symptoms was this one day where she passed 2 completely silver-white stools, clear signs of liver dysfunction, but then they couldn't find anything and said her liver was fine and she was fine... so even if it is dysfunction in regard to your liver it can
be transitory!!!!
But you should get it checked out!
Best wishes,
Sarah

I just wrote you a private answer by mistake (I'm new, have Lyme, and feel like a dunce most of the time with my brain gone). Anyway, the pain for gallbladder is up high (below ribs) on the right and wraps around to the back. If stomach, it stays in the front. Gallbladder is connected with liver problems. If you see any yellowing of your eyes or skin -- go to the hospital! If pain persists, go to the hospital. Better to be safe than sorry.
For stomach a tea of ginger, peppermint or chamomile can sooth it. Pepsid AC or Prilosec is better than Tums but none of these are really good to be taking. It can also be gas. That is common and very painful, but doesn't last for more than 18 hours.

Pain of that magnitude needs to be evaluated with careful inquiry, followed by a physical exam, then labwork and possibly imaging. Get to a physcian.

Not knowing any of your background, the pale stool & severe pain would also concern me. I'm not certain but I seem to recall these symptoms as suggesting a need for prompt professional evaluation.

Better safe than sorry!

some causes of pain & pale stool as symptoms:

1. Bile Duct Cancer
2. Biliary Atresia
3. Biliary disorder
4. Biliary tract cancer
5. Celiac Disease
6. Cholangitis
7. Cholecystitis
8. Cholestasis
9. Digestive Diseases
10. Gallstones
11. Giardia
12. Hepatitis
13. Hepatitis A
14. Hepatitis B
15. Hepatitis C
16. Hereditary pancreatitis
17. Liver cancer
18. Liver conditions
19. Pancreas conditions
20. Pancreatic cancer
21. Pancreatitis
22. Primary biliary cirrhosis
23. Tropical sprue
24. Viral Hepatitis

I'd get a professional opinion.

Sorry you're going through this! [Frown]

I had my gallbladder out 5 or so years ago. The pain was under my right ribs... another sign is stabbing pain in your shoulder blades... That hurt just as much as my stomach. I hope you feel better today?

Victoria,

How are you doing? Are your stools still pale? If yes, make sure you get a doctor to see you ASAP.

I hope you are feeling better.

Wife just tested positive for Hep B. Have you been tested for this? Has similar symptoms.
