After 17 months on meds, my stomach has had it. I take theralac, L-glutamine-any other suggestions? My LLMD feels I'm getting to the end..just need my stomach to hold out.

Are you doin a lot of probiotics?

When I was on Doxy I had to take a PPI as I developed severe gastro issues.

Taking Aloe Gel was good, too.

What about taking a protonix in the morning for acid..along with the probiotics. It has helped my stomach.

I had to take Theralac, Ultra Flora AND VSL#3. Also s. boulardii.

The VSL#3 is expensive, but if I cut it out, diarrhea would come back.

Hi all....been in bed a couple of days.

My stomach is very unhappy with me and the doxy/rifampin combo.

I'm taking probiotics but I am so nauseaous...then when I eat, throw that up. I threw up the antibiotics last night after dinner and that left me very weak but also left my esophagus burning like hades.

I drank alot of water but still fell asleep with the burn.

Today I have not taken any antibiotics and have drank some aloe juice.

Should I attempt to take antibiotics tonight after dinner?

Thanks a bunch,
Kimberly

Kim...Are you eating food when you take doxy? You MUST do that! Do not lie down for a minimum of 30 min after taking the doxy.

Shoney....Be sure to take something like Prilosec. I took it twice a day while on abx for Lyme.

Right now my stomach is not doing so well and I think it's because I've only been taking 1 Prilosec per day over the past several months while on abx for the sinus infection.

I FORGOT to up my dosage.

Your stomach has had it? What's happening with your stomach exactly?

and by the way, I can take doxy on an empty stomach and lay down. I was always taking doxy with my Milk Thistle. Well last week, ran out of milk thistle and took my doxy. All of a sudden, I could not handle doxy. Throwing up, nausea and heatburn EN MASSE!
Did that for a few days and still felt bad. Took my milk thistle last night with my doxy, and sore stomach or nausea.
Just my own observation

Yes, my question too. What are your symptoms please?

I take prilosic in the morning, theralac during the day. I have constant nausea, sometimes stomach pain-many times I feel like I want to throw up. Morning are especially bad. My endoscopy showed: an ulcer, esophagitis, chronic inflammation in duodnum and intestines.

I hope it's okay to post this here since I didn't start this topic.

I just read it and thought it might help me too since I'm having stomach trouble.

I have heard of prilosec but not theralac??? Where do you get that and what it is?

I have been trying to take the doxy with food but I'm so nauseous I can't eat much.

I seem to be throwing up what little food is in there and I've lost over 10 lbs in one week now!

I started the abx last Friday... I can't believe it's only been a week.

I took them last night after I ate and already this morning the nausea is back.

How do you all deal with the nausea? Normally I would have toast or crackers but on the diet, I'm not supposed to eat those anymore.

Carbs are my absolute favorite thing to eat too so it's hard for me.

I am trying to focus on the outcome and not whine. I just did not expect the herxes to be so awful!

Thank you all for listening and for your help in getting over these hurdles.

Blessings,
Kimberly

My son had unrelenting nausea during and after his first go round with antibiotic treatment for Lyme (in 2002). We learned he was gluten intolerant and removing gluten from his diet helped reduce his nausea.

He is now gluten, dairy, egg, soy, nut, and legume free because at various times over the years the nausea returned. He was recently rediagnosed with Lyme. I do not know if Lyme triggered the food intolerances. I have a feeling it might be bartonella.

JudyEric How did you find out he was gluten intolerant? By blood test?

Klewis Theralac is a strong probiotic-you have to go to their website- www.theralac.com

I am not eating any carbs at this point so I'm not sure it would be gluten.

I had a cabbage roll for "brunch" and I was fine until I took my meds about a half hour later.

Now I have stomach pain and nausea again. This is my first round of antibiotics too.

A friend sent over some enzymes and things hoping it would help.

I took them with my meal and it didn't. Perhaps it needs more time.

It's just hard to eat anything with this terrible nausea! Thankfully though, I've kept what I've ate today down. That's a praise.

I just drank another 1/2 cup of aloe juice too.

Thanks for the link on the theralac. I will check it out.

Blessings,
Kimberly

KLewis-I had horrible nausea in the beginning of treatment. Now it's more mild, but constant. I'm not sure if it's the meds, or the bugs. I eat carbs to help settle my stomach with the zith.

Try New Chapter SuperCritical Omega 7

It rebuilds the lining of the GI Tract and gut.

Amazing stuff. My stomach never would have recovered without. I saw a difference within days of starting it.

Best $20 I ever spent.

Vitamin Shoppe is a good source to get this.
