Okay, a new symptom for me. Right now I feel as though there is something swollen under the back of my tongue. In the area where you would normally taste something sour.

I had this for a few hours last week--had totally forgotten about it. I think I had it the evening after I did my castor oil pack.

I had it for a little while last night, but I didn't think much of it. Then today I noticed it as I was driving. I had to do a lot of driving today (something I haven't done in a while) and it's been there all afternoon.

Initially, I thought "oh great, is this my thyroid acting funny?" but I just looked up where my thyroid is and that doesn't seem to be where my issue is. It's much higher up. I thought that maybe my thyroid was swollen and pushing things up, but as far as I can tell when I feel my throat nothing feels swollen or out of the ordinary. It's much more internal.

The funny thing is, I feel like since this started happening, my air hunger has improved! I thought that maybe it was just that my "symptom focus" so to speak had changed, but I really think the air hunger has improved. Not totally gone, but improved.

Has anyone else had this happen?

Thats a weird one. Closest I 've had is numb lower lip and chin.

Its probably a freaky lymey thing but maybe its an allergy. Are you eating/taking anything new?

Hi Je--I actually think I figured this out last night. The castor oil packs are supposed to stimulate your lymphatic system, so I went online to check and see where all the lymph nodes in our bodies are.

Turns out that there are a bunch of them right in the area where I was having the issue. The swollen feeling seems to have resolved.

I'm wondering if the air hunger is the result of a lot of toxins still left in my body and that the increased lymph activity helped to clean some of it out.

Just a guess.

Hi Niere,

I am glad you figured out what it was and it has gone away.

I had so many odd symptoms during the very first year in my Lyme treatment, it was frustrating trying to figure it all out. My thyroid gland did swell and was painful at one point, now it's fine tho.

I think you are on to something, toxins can make us feel very ill.

Keep us posted... [Wink]

If it's under your tongue, I had a cyst in my salivary gland under my tongue. No joke! Wierdest thing ever happened to me.

I went to the dentist - he was clueless.

Went to the ENT who told me right away what it was. Said nothing to worry about, sometimes the salivary glands get blocked.

Suck on sour lemon balls.
