Can anyone point me to a primer on herxing? I'm trying to be forearmed by being forewarned of what to expect. My daughter started vomiting after 48 hours on doxycycline. She had been nauseated from the beginning--actually starting when she was on ceftin for a sinus infection right before starting doxycycline. She vomited on day on ceftin (cefuroxime), about 8 days into it, but I am suspcious that it was a virus at that point. However, she has been low-grade naueated since a few days after starting ceftin.

How long does herxing last? What is this about the day four and fourth week cycle?

thanks!

I don't know much, as I'm still learning too, but are you sure this isn't a reaction to the doxy?
I know if I don't eat crackers or something I get sick as a dog. I know it is listed as a side-affect. And water-have herdrink lots of water. Best of luck

Doxy is really rough on the stomache.....]

I usually eat yogart in the am....

..then eat a big lunch.....with the doxy.....lots of water.....

then eat dinner with the doxy......lots of water.....also.....

... don't have her lie down for at least a half hour after taking the doxy......

sounds strange but helps big time.....

when my stomache is empty it hurts when I'm on doxy......

hope she feels better....

also, be sure to do a EDIT, FIND, and type in NOIR SUNGLASSES in my lengthy newbie package i sent you earlier in last 1-2 days.

she will need extra protection for her eyes and covering all parts of her skin!

good luck to you; glad you found us! [group hug] [kiss]
