When I went to my llmd he told me that one of my knees had an abnormally fast reflex. the other was normal. I for some reason didnt ask more about this.

Now I have been having a lot of weird neuropathies in this leg (even before my appt)

just wondering what would cause one knee to have a fast reflex?

Thanks
Melissa

I don't know merrygirl but when I crashed I had hypereflexes. It lasted about 3-4 mos. I remember my husband just touching my knee gently and I almost kicked him accross the room.

I was also startling very easily and was very jumpy amongst other things.

Hiya. My reflexes always test very "rapid-fire" since lyme on both legs. Feet go a-flyin!
My first LLMD said that extra magnesium might help. I haven't yet really given it a fair trial.

I heard that too about Magnesium but I tried "Natural Calm" and it gave me an awful headache.

Dr. B once told me that my hyper-reflexes were caused by a mag deficiency.

Bilateral hyperreflexes.

Before Lyme diagnosis, a neurologist seemed very concerned. But when cat-scan came back "normal", his concern disappeared.

interesting. Maybe I will try some Mag.

I think that the concern is that it was only one leg?

Other leg is normal

I will just add it to my list of weirdo symptoms.

Two years ago when I came down with my first symptoms I had the pleasure [Roll Eyes] of seeing two neurologists, both of whom said that my reflexes were hyper. I'm pretty sure they still are, but not to the extent that it interferes with my functioning at all.

I only notice it when I see a doctor and they tap on my knee and my leg flies at lightening speed.

[Big Grin]

I also have some sort of odd finger reflex--can't remember the name of it... oh well.

Merry~I have hyper reflexes too and they're not uniform...they seem to be scattered throughout different parts [Wink]

I don't worry about them anymore. I just chalk it up to another wierd symptom of this disease!

Merry,

Hyperreflexive on right knee :/

I did break that lower leg once...maybe that's
related????

I take Magnesium Citrate that helps.
