hi all.... i have been on the cowden since mid november. i am wondering; (i know everyone is different), but should i be feeling better bcs I am Not. I am feeling worse but did not feel TOO BAD the first month or so.

I started feeling lousy about over a month ago.

How long could the herxing last??

Isn't is only supposed to be about 2-3 weeks at a time. Because i'm wondering if its the protocol making me feel worse and NOT doing any good.

The Dr. DID say he feels that i have been "herxing too long". Whatever that means?? So i just wanted some feedback please. My dr. wants me to take abx w/the 1/2 dose of the cowden. I have had so MUCH trouble w/abx so i am very reluctant to taking it; just needed some advice [Smile]

thank you
Sue

If you're slowly declining, I would tend to say you are getting worse and it's not herxing.

Herxing would be an increase of symptoms followed by improvement, but slowly getting worse over a couple months is the Lyme just worsening.

I'm on Full Cowden plus mino and babs treatment. It's going very well with this combo for me. I did decline when we cut the babs treatment too low, so now I'm herxing from starting over on the Malarone, but overall, it's been very good for me.

I have to go very slow on the Cumanda. I was only able to take about 5 drops, twice a day. I definitely felt like I was herxing from the start. Maybe it just took you longer to build up to it?

I'm having a stomach flu now so I stopped all herbs until I get over it.

I don't feel comfortable taking abx. I'm going to stick with the Cowden protocol. It may just take some time with the Cowden herbs. I wouldn't give up yet. If you are herxing too much, it's OK to back off. It doesn't help to overdo it. My suggestion is to go slow - I'm not a doctor but that's what my doctor told me.

Herbal treatments can take longer than drugs. I tried abx for about 8 months with no improvement. I'm not against drugs but I just don't feel comfortable with taking abx indefinitely. I'd rather give the herbs a chance.
