I don't know what the deal is with it, but I did get it once when on IV Unasyn (abx)...at the time I didn't even mention it to anyone as I was rather naive in those days and never worried about anything. Maybe I should have.

Here is my 2 cents worth.

YOU and he FLEW to Florida right??

Then flew home??

Then 'HE' flew to west coast someplace I member.

Any chance this is just dehydration from flying?? Just a silly sx??

I get dehyrated from flying,,,dont know why,just always did.

Unless it gets worse as six's first post said,,,see if it goes away,,,OR gets worse!!

If the sex thing,,,their would be ALOT of foam in the world!!still--just don--

I had the same situation shortly after being bitten by a brown recluse spider.

Please be sure he gets checked by doctor. It can indicate problems.

Ketek caused me foamy urine...

Tracy tell Blake to go to either Walgreens or CVS pharmacy and by an OTC urine test dipstick for urine/protein and nitrites.....they have those kits.then he just need to follow instructions....

Protein in the urine is another sign of kidney disease. Sometimes urine will appear foamy or bubbly when protein is present. A urinalysis will check for protein, blood and white blood cells in the urine (which should not be there). Diabetics should have a yearly urine test for microalbumin, small amounts of protein that don't show up on standard urine protein test.

During my antibiotic treatment I had two times this foamy pee and it was when my bacterial load was still high. I got it

1. from Doxy IV and
2. from Rifing.

Since then I had no bubbly pee anymore. I didn't get Doxy IV anymore since but I still rife once in a while and it's not happening anymore.

I was wondering if it was from the dead bugs

No, it has nothing to do with the toilet. That was funny goofy.

I too used to be a foamer pee'r. I haven't foamed when I pee in a long time. Maybe 5 yrs ago. I used to foam on abx, but I also remembering foaming up when I stopped abx and started during lots of body work such as lymph drainage treatments and other type body work after treatments by massage therapist.

I also remember a thread a long time ago about people and their pee foaming. lol Well, seriously, I remember it.

Oh, thank you so much for your responses!!! I just read them to Blake over the phone and he especially wanted to thank his friends that took the time to google and research answers for him. He was very touched!

He is calling our LLMD right away. I never would have known it could be something serious. He has been asking me to post it for days; some wife I am!!!

The most common cause of foamy urine is kidney damage. The kidney cannot filter adequately the proteins of the blood and they leak into the urine. The damage can be acute, short-lived and caused normally by a drug, or chronic-long term that leads to kidney insuficiency or failure eventually.

Many cases of kidney toxicity caused by drugs are reversible when the drug is stopped, or its dose reduced consequently.

It would be wise to consult your doctor and evaluate it as soon as possible.

If protein in your urine can cause it to be foamy, well my dumb doctor blamed the protein in my urine on sperm (and I'm female and single).

Any chance of that?

I'm with you, vision, I have had this symptom for as long as I can remember in being ill. It seems to increase when I am on ABX or when I eat high carbohydrate/sugar meals (which is infrequently), but when I do I notice this.

When I stick to my good eating habits and drink plenty of fluids, this seems to be dramatically lessened.

I also check mine and purchased a container of dip sticks to keep at home. Two times testing at a doctors office equals about what 50 dip sticks cost to do it at home yourself.

And it doesn't take Einstein to read the results. Any dip-stick can do it!



May I suggest getting a small container of them as they do expire and unless you use them ALL the time... you will waste your money.

Buying them for myself saves me having to make appts and then waiting for one when needed... going to town when I already don't feel good.... sitting in a waiting room full of "flu sick" people just to pee in a cup...

And being charged X number of dollars- I THINK the last time it was $20.00 just for the test.. plus being charged for the office visit.

BUT- Be sure that you get good dip sticks that have all of the tests on one stick. Some only check for a few things... so don't be cheap when buying them.. get the best you can get.

Otherwise there could be a problem but you won't know because the test wasn't included... and it could steer you wrong.

Yeap Tin, why bring a kidney/pee duck into the mix? Just someone else to treat you like an idiot.

I am a water drinker. But after having my Russian massage lady do some medical therapy on me for an hour, my pee the rest of the day would foam up.

I used to tell her this and she would look at me funny. I knew her treatments and the extra water I drank for 24 hrs after a treatment was expelling something.

I knew the odds were in favor that it was something bad. Certainly wasn't anything good, common sense told me.

Don't know if it was drug residue or not? Only feeling better was the important thing. Thank God for my Russian massage lady.

By foamy, what exactly would define it as such? I wouldn't say mine is foamy, so much as there is an increase of bubbles as opposed to before. There aren't inches of foam, as some have described on here. I would think abx has something to do with that.

He describes it as about two inches of foamy bubbles; he said it doesn't happen every single time he urinates but most times.

I told him to go get the dipsticks, the dipstick hasn't done it yet!!! Could anyone tell me a brand name or exactly what they are called? With his lyme brain he will probably end up with a home pregnancy test.

Yes, I believe he called our LLMD; haven't spoken to him yet today but our LLMD is excellent about returning calls promptly.

He won't be home until next week, and right now he has had the problem for two or three weeks I would say, or at least that is when he first mentioned it to me. I forwarded him this thread, but he has not had any computer access as his Mom's computer is not working.

Thanks again, and if anyone can give me a clear name of what he needs to buy, that would help! I can always call his mother and I'm sure she will run right out and get them for him!
