On my tests my C3 Complement was 88 (ref. range 90-180) and my Total Complement (CH50) was 16 (ref. range 31-66).
I have no idea what any of this means. My Dr. tried to explain it to me briefly but I was lost and it kind of sounded like she wasn't sure herself. She said she'd look into it and get back to me but hasn't yet and it's on my mind. She also said I may have to see a rheumotologist.
Does anyone know what my results might mean?

I hope someone stops by with helpful information for you! I'm sorry I don't have any answers. I have the opposite problem as you (my CH50 is 282 (range 50-150). Never did understand what that meant! I have some vague notion it meant I was inflammed.
Perhaps that means you're doing well on the inflammation side? Of course, I'm probably wrong!
Maybe someone will stop by with answers!

Thanks you guys!!
I actually kind of got an answer from my Dr. She said decreased levels are associated with inflammatory conditions and autoimmune diseases and that with Lyme there's certainly and inflammatory response and that when the body is fighting inflammation in general the complement gets used up a bit. All my tests for Lupus have come back negative now although I did have a positive ANA last year.
Anyway, she said we'd monitor me and my levels and if there seems to be a clear rheumotologic issue going on that we could arrange for a consultation with a rheumotologist. It sounds like she thinks it's due to inflammation from Lyme though.
Weird though that last year before being dx my ex-dr. tested the whole rheumotologic factor thing and it was negative but this complement thing came up showing something. Who knows in the world of Lyme. Maybe I have some illness that's yet to be identified since I only came back 1 band positive. On the other hand though I did have a tick bite about 8 yrs. ago. No bulls-eye but I do have Mycoplasma and who knows what else.
Ugh! So the saga continues!

Wallace,
So are you saying that this can be caused by Mold?
I've been suspecting that mold is a problem in my house!
