I guess that I shouldn't be surprised from all that I have read but she said I would be fine if I just take my two weeks of doxy.
I asked for a repeat test just to confirm. No.
I asked about the dizziness, the heart palp's, etc.
It will go away. EKG done in the office, normal.
Got a copy of my labs and this is what it says.
Lyme, Western Blot, Serum
Lyme Ab IgG- Negative
Lyme Ab IgM-Positive P41 Ab Present P39 Ab Absent P23 Ab Present
My vitamin D level is 15.9. She said that is why I feel so bad.
My testosterone is only slighly elevated She wants to do a pelvic ultrasound.
I have three nodules/cysts on my thyroid- recheck in 6 months.
I feel very sad that every question I asked was a no its not related.
" There is alot of bunk out there" " You will be fine"
Not sure what to do. Posted by Tincup (Member # 5829) on :
Sorry you got a bad ride on the duck carousel.
Find another doctor. NOW!
They are nearly all like that in Florida, which is one of the reasons I moved away.
That kind of IDIOT thinking killed some of my family and nearly killed me.

Go to the seeking doctors section and find an LLMD ASAP! You need to be tested for co-infections and you need PROPER treatment.
NOW is the time to do it if you are newly infected. You have a chance to get rid of it now but if you wait, the chances that you can get rid of it are much less in my view.
Terry I'm not a doctor

Hi Nu - I am sure that many others will chime in - but you need to get yourself and LLMD (Lyme Literate Med Doctor) asap.
Hopefully somebody will come in with info on that for you. I do not know doctors in your area, otherwise I would.
Don't worry, it will all work out.
Almost every single one of us on this board has been through some variation of what you are now going through.
Maybe think of doing some herbal treatment to keep it at bay while you are waiting for an LLMD appt?
What do others think on this one? I am not sure what the solution is.
But I think that, if it were me, I would find an LLMD, and anticipate that there might be a long wait to see him/her.
IN the meantime, I would get Buhner's book, and, at the very least, would start myself on the andrographis at the recommended dosage and maybe some of the other herbs so that it does not progress while waiting for the docs appt.
That is only what I would do.
That is all, of course, if I could not somehow get my hands on some more antibiotics.
Anybody else?
Good luck and know that it will all work out OK. You're on the right path now at least!

Thanks for all the information. I heard from a lady at my hairdresser's yesterday that there might be a doc in Dothan?
I am going to try and find one.
Tincup, I am from the panhandle area.
My MD said that I have had this for 6-8 months, how does she know that?
Can you ever find out how long ago you were infected? Posted by nu2lyme (Member # 14849) on :
Where do I find the find a doctor section?
Is it under a certain area? Posted by daise (Member # 13622) on :
Hi Nu2Lyme,
How you were treated ... is old hat to most Lymies. Been there, done that. Most docs don't care.
OK, you've been initiated.
I'm glad you found us (she started on another thread, everybody.)
Your primary MD is dead wrong. 2 weeks of doxy ENSURES chronic Lyme disease, unless there is additional intervention by a determined patient.
After signs and symptoms for one year it's termed chronic Lyme disease. At that point, yes it's treatable, and most of us get better to the point we function pretty well (although some insurance companies won't pay for treatment.)
However, then it gets expensive, very often disabling, many can't work and their finances are a mess. Family troubles can happen. Big time stress in all ways.
You need an LLMD who is an ILADS physician. (www.ilads.org)
Yes, go to the forum on this site dedicated to seeking a doctor. Also, ask your local Lyme support group people for additional input. (Go to the top of this page, left menu, and click "Support Groups.")
Slightly elevated testosterone--if you are female--is probably PCOS. YES! Please PM me for information.
Welcome!

You are CDC positive on the IGM, and if I remember correctly that points to a more chronic infection. YOU NEED LONGER TERM TREATMENT, and you must be tested for co infections. You are describing some symptoms of Babesia!
How so many of us would love to trade places with you....being back in the "under one year" time frame, able to be more aggressive, unwilling to take no for an answer....I know I would.
Don't become me, or the thousands of the rest of us that are chronic. You've got a good shot.
TAKE IT.

I'm from Tallahassee, Florida, and I can tell you that I haven't been successful in finding anyone around, that is a LLMD. I'm getting my abx from a nurse practioner who sees Lymies, and knows some about the disease, but she's admitted that she is no Lyme expert.
I've been on my abx for about 3 months, and I am diligently searching for an LLMD to continue my care, once this course is over. I want to make sure this isn't Lyme I'm experiencing, and I plan to knock it out early [if it is Lyme], if possible.
