I know that for a typical ABX Txd illness we are supposed to change our toothbrush at the end of the course of ABX. This is certainly not a typical illness.

I'm wondering, since we may have Bb, Babesiosis, Bartonelosis, viruses, mycoplasmas, etc....., should we maybe soak our toothbrushes in some kind of disinfectant solution? Peroxide, Listerine, Cepacol, Bleach & water....?

Should we change brushes between courses of different ABX? Should we change them anytime we feel improvement in Sx?

Can we re-infect ourselves with our toothbrushes?

[confused]

I vote for peroxide. It's my favorite cleaner for toothbrushes.

As for reinfecting with Lyme, I have no clue....but we can surely get other nice germs that way.

Good grief...you answered your question with the other post...good ole' H202...soak overnight.

NO bleach...reacts with the bristles...

OR...buy a new one!

See? Ole Droopy herself agrees with me. Must be in the stars.

2 votes for Peroxide...don't use it all in your hair there Ms. Clairol!

Na na!

Thanks Fin,
Lots of good info there too! [Big Grin]

I have one of the sonic toothbrushes, as well. What if you take the brush part off & soak it or would that be a huge pain in the tooshie?

????? just WHERE are you soaking it?

DRINK the Rum and don't worry about the germs...they will be happy as well!

I keep mine, head down in a tall double shot glass on the bathroom counter in undiluted H2O2. It's electric, so I agitate it on the way out. I also rinse with hot water afterwards and then agitate on the way in. I change the peroxide every weekend.

ali-

so fogged in, can't get the gist of the replies here.

but gee, a new toothbrush costs a couple of dollars at most- why not buy a new one at least once a week and save yourself any worry?

I replace my toothbrush at least once a week.

Soak in peroxide at night.

I am always thinking about yeast. [shake]

Thanks for the input, guys! [group hug]

I AM wondering if soaking the head of the sonic toothbrush would damage it.

I do have to buy more replacements anyway. I'll have to read the package. I would think they'd tell you if you can't soak it. Maybe not, who knows???

It's probably a good idea to use cheap toothbrushes & replace them every week, too.

My mouth instructments get hydrogen peroxided after every use. I have it diluted and in a spray bottle to spray all tools.

Ali...what happened to the LOL???? Hmmmmmm?

YOUR touthbrush head can be soaked...otherwise it would not be suitable to be a TOOTHBRUSH!!!!

(Used with water...no)?

HA!

I didn't get it right away, I'm a tad "slow" lately. [Frown] [Roll Eyes]

I think it's likely that the entire thing can not be submerged, not the brush. Sometimes getting something wet for a short period & then drying it, is not the same as soaking for very long periods. No?
