Wow... they have lots of great films!

I wish they would put them on cable. I guess I'll just have to keep dreaming...

Is there a place you can rent the dvds from?

***UPDATE***

...

Greetings from Open Eye!

We're excited to announce the world premiere of UNDER OUR SKIN, an infectious new film about microbes, money and medicine. Three years in the making, this documentary reveals the shocking human, medical and political dimensions of one of the most misunderstood diseases of our time--Lyme disease. Following the lives of courageous patients and physicians as they battle the epidemic, the film brings into focus a haunting picture of our healthcare system and its inability to cope with a growing terror under our skin.

The Tribeca Film Festival, quickly becoming one of the premiere film festivals in the country, has selected UNDER OUR SKIN for its "Discovery" section, showing it at a coveted Saturday 7pm screening slot. It is also being featured in a special "Behind the Screens" series to discuss "films and conversations about truth, clarity and responsibility." UNDER OUR SKIN is one of three festival films chosen for this series, and the only documentary. We anticipate major press for this event, and look forward to bringing the film's issues to the forefront of the American public.

Help us pack the house at the Tribeca screenings, so that broadcasters and distributors know how important this film is and how large of an audience it can generate!

Below is a partial listing of Tribeca screening times. Watch for upcoming festival screenings in different parts of the country!

Can anyone go to this premiere?

Or do you need tickets or an invitation?

I am in the area and would love to attend. [Big Grin]

Proud

You are very fortunate to be in the area. You can give us a first hand description of the audience's reaction at either event.

Hey Proud,

Why don't you try this link at the Under Our Skin website for more information about attending.

I'm trying to figure out how to by advance tickets for either of those showings. They have ticket packages if you want to see many films at the festival and they mention you can also buy for just seeing one film. However, I can't figure out how to buy them for the single films and of course specifically for "Under Our Skin".

Hi everyone,

I hope that the film will air on PBS, where people who aren't looking for it might tune-in to see what it's all about.

Hi Radfaraf,

I just looked it over, and yes, it is confusing. The best I can come up with is to go to the Ticket Info/ Box Office Info page...

Once there, you will find locations and phone numbers of who to contact re: ticket sales.

http://www.tribecafilmfestival.org/tff/tickets/Box_Office_Information.html

Please be certain to read the Ticketing Tips page too:

Good luck!

I went to the website for the Tribeca Film Festival and it says that single tickets for American Express holders go on sale on Saturday April 12, 2008.

It looks like you can buy advance tickets but they are packages...so if there are some other films you want to see this is probably the better deal!

Fortunately I live in CT and work in NYC so I do plan to go to one of the 5 showings they are having at the festival.

It looks like there is also a Monday, May 12 showing and launch party hosted by Turn the Corner and Open Eye Pictures. It starts at 6PM with a cocktail hour and then they have the film and Q&A session afterwords. It's at the NY Times Center on 41st.

This is such great news!!

the premiere is three blocks from my son and dil's apartment.

they'll be in FL on spring break, having co-ed baby shower, celebrating anniversary and his b-day. [Big Grin]

i don't feel comfortable doing the 66 steps to their apartment with only one arm.

i was watching a lifetime movie this morning reading the sunday newspaper, and all of a sudden the commercial mentioned...

The Tribeca Film Festival, and i didn't hear anything else since i turn commercials way down.

so if you are a lifetime movie watcher, listen, and see what they say or if any movies are mentioned from there!! surprised me! [Razz]
