I have taken only two doses of the Biaxin/Doxy combo and I have had really bad GI symptoms...
The first day that I took the two together, it was two to three hours of severe stomach pain and nausea.
I have had reflux and heartburn bad as well.
This morning I was up at 3am with heartburn so bad and I can taste a little blood when I cough.
Called the NP that Rx the med, she said to take one pill in the am and one in the pm for a few weeks, take probiotics and garlic.
I have taken Zantac and Tums and am about to take one of my husbands protonix, I sure don't want my esophagus to get completely irritated.
If anyone has any suggestions, let me know!
I can't tell if it's working because I am not taking it as prescribed but I am doing the best I can do...

Are you taking it with food?
I had to take doxy after a full meal. I took 200mg in the morning, after a good size breakfast, and 200mg at night right after dinner. Without food, I had bad GI pain and nausea, but with food, no problems.
And I know that it was working, and being absorbed, even taking it with food; the effect was great.
