My son has recently relapsed. He showers once per day and does a detox bath in the evenings, yet he has a constant odor of sweat, although he isn't having night sweats etc., tested 3 times all neg for babs and doesn't have babs symptoms.
He does have symptoms of bart and is in treatment.
We also believe H.pylori may be an issue - related to this? Or lyme?
He drinks tons of water - I can't figure this out.
He uses deodorant w/o aluminum (aluminum causes sweating) so it isn't that.
Does anyone have a clue as to what or why this odor of "sweat" continues?

Lyme use to do that to me or the treatment of it. I think it is because we are killing so many good flora the body dosent have much left but the ones that spring up when not being kept in check by the good flora.

This happened to me after about 8 weeks of 4 grams of IV Rocephin.
YOu may want to search for the thread entitled: EEEWWW Stinky...lots of good responses.
For me, I think that it is a matter of toxic overload. I would shower and wash my pits several times per day and still came out Stinky.
I should also add that it wasn't my normal very mild odor, but a very offensive,strong odor. Posted by listenswithcare (Member # 10719) on :
For me the odor was worse when I was in relapse mode. I think it was caused by all the buggers in my body.
As I progressed in my treatment on ABX, the odor became much less to the point of not needed any deoderant at all.
Now I use Crystal deoderant and not even every day.
I do take a hot detox bath most nights, or sweat at the gym or on my far infrared heat mattress.
Detox is part of it, but I also think the Lyme/co-infections are part of it too. I just added Bactrim DS recently and I am having more odor again. But nothing like is was before treatment.

I used to forget my deodorant all the time, and it was no big deal.
Now though I take my shower, and because I sweat in the shower even, by the time I step out, my armpits stink already. If I'm especially sweaty I'll soak in the tub and forget the shower routine, because I don't really feel clean anymore after a shower anyway.
I notice I have a funny taste in my mouth and my nose when I'm especially smelly, too. It's sweet, thick, and milky tasting.

Does he have an odor of ammonia? I recall here on Lymenet and on some Yahoo groups of people occasionally posting about getting high ammonia levels with Lyme. Can't recall the cause and effect, but there are probably archives on it.
