Just curious about this.

I know many of us live in endemic areas, and it could be just a matter of time before we see the bulleye again.

Anyone ever use topical antibiotic ointment? I wonder if it would help.

If you know me you know I like bee venom ointment because it helped me so much. According to research, it is supposed to to kill spirochetes. It may also break down the protein coating of the cyst.

If I got bit I'd rub on some Venex Ointment, then bolt for the Doxy, if not on abx already.

Any thoughts?

Here's a link to some bee info.

Ten years ago, my husband had a large irregular rash (in hindsight, EM)in his groin and the 'nice' doc presribed a topical antibiotic ointment with the presumptive diagnosis of a skin infection. Rash went away after a few weeks. Fast forward to today, and he is housebound with chronic neurological Lyme even after 3 years of oral and IV antibiotic treatment. So I have one vote for topical antibiotics NOT working [Frown]

Thanks. Just curious about what people have tried. I'm sorry it didn't work for him, but I'm glad to know about it.
