My daughter has been on omniceff and zith and a few months ago started with acid reflux.
She didn't want to take another medicine but finally broke down and started prevacid last week.
Late in the afternoon and through the evening it seems to be as bad as ever.
It sounds like bubbling up from her stomach.
Because she has been on antibiotics for a year and a half I feel tempted to ask about switching to herbals like Cowden.
She is almost but not quite symptom free.
Also, from reading some posts here it seems like prevacid may not be such a good thing to start.
Any suggestions are appreciated!

Hey Karen.
I have experience with this, but yet still struggle to advise.
I guess it's because it wasn't really straight forward for us. My daughter was around 10 at the time. She had pain around the naval which progressed to acid reflux and nausea. She had hip/joint pain and sometimes hobbled. She also had insomnia.
Doc J proceeded with caution and we started lyme therapy. Her tummy got worse and we scratched our heads as blood work appeared normal. He suggested a GI lyme specialist who biopsied her stomach and part of intestine. It came back pcr bart.
She was given prilosec and prevacid by GI doc and Doc J started bart therapy. They were okay but the antibiotics were what helped. I remember stopping the antacids much sooner then was recomended.
But your pain may be due to the meds not due to lack of diagnosis and/or therapy. My daughter was on zith/rif/quinolone(can't remember which one but not Levaquin), and one other that started with a B.
If you have ruled out coinfections, than I guess I would try an antacid, especially if you're almost symptom free. I would give it a time frame though. If it is unhelpful than I would talk to Lyme doc about different antibiotic regiment that might irritate less. Be sure you are doing probiotics and immune enhancement as well. Very important.
Be well.

She doesn't have pain, luckily, just alot of bubbling up from the stomach.
Supposedly no co-infections.
Since this started so long after being on the antibiotics the pharmacist says it is from the medicine and should go away when she stops.
I have to say we were lax with the probiotics, not consistant, and are getting back on track.
Dr J's office said 1.2 billion a day.
Thank you for your advice. Karen

Glad to here you're getting back on track with probiotics. That should help restore natural flora and be very helpful.
What did you mean by 1.2 billion a day?
....My medical bills, number of spirochetes, or brain cells being lost due to stress

On the bottle of acedopholis it will say 2 billion live organisms or whatever amount it contains.
Dr J has taken her off the zith- still taking omniceff while we get back on track.
A friend of mine with experience with gerd has been helpful with ph test and foods(and water) that is good for this so hopefully it will help.
