Ok, so I had my routine blood work done this week and then I got a call from my Gastro's office.
She told me my Liver Enzymes were elevated and He my Gastero wanted to see me.
Hmm, so I thought it was the Minocycline that I have been taking for about three months now and called back and left that message and asked if I should stop the Mino.
Just got a call back and they moved my appointment up to next Tuesday and my Gastro says he does not think it's the Mino and I can keep taking it.
Well, it's the only thing I've added and my enyzymes have been fine ever since I got diagnosed with Fatty Liver Disease which was at least 6 years ago.
So... Any ideas of what may be causing this? I have to admit, I'm kind of freaking out a little bit here.

Maybe he doesn't know that antibiotics affect the liver enzymes?
Are you taking milk thistle to protect the liver??
I know someone whose fatty liver disease went away after natural treatment. That story will have to be shared through an email.

Hi there
I'm not taking anything to protect the liver, yikes!!
He's a pretty good Doc and if he said it's not the Mino, it's probably not but...
I just had a thought, I switched to Crestor about 4 months ago and that may be the culprit.
I'll have tp PM you my email LT.

Hi Bri
Thanks man.
I have missed a lot of the other things everyone does here besides anti-biotics. I just found out about the pro-biotics a while ago and I'm taking them and they help.
I have to look into the thistle, it seems like the one to try first.

I had high liver enzymes too... doc told me to take milk thistle and alpha lipoic acid. I once ran out of the alpha lipoic acid (I was still taking milk thistle) and my liver enzymes went back up... went back on it and they went down again. I know everyone is different but in my case it was the alpha lipoic acid that really helped my liver.

Hi JMO Hi Jenn
Ok I'm having my wife Joann pick this stuff up today.
So.. I have Mangosteen Juice, Milk Thistle and silymarin.
Now is the Milk Thistle a pill or liquid or both?
If anyone has time could you put the amount of each of these products that you take daily?
Thanks a lot everyone!

Hey Steve 2 milk thistle per day. I don't take the others, but think it will be ok to take the laxseed w/ the milk thistle.
Maybe take the Mangosteen a little later...I have taken this, many swear by it.
Good luck w/ the Gastro, will be thinking of you, keep us posted.
