That depends on the individual. Many have great success and others don't tolerate it well.

I believe in the therapy and can offer you several research articles and information.

Here is the thing that I believe to be a truth about HBOT. I will for the most part put you in a better state of health.

It does help to heal the damage done by lyme such as in vasculitis. It will boost your immune system and facilitate the antibiotics crossing of the blood brain barrier.

However, It is only part of a healing regimen that you must fine tune to your healing path. Each individual is different and that is why I believe each person should find their own.

It can be costly, otherwise this is the only draw back, IMHO... otherwise it is the least toxic of all the therapies out there for the treatment of lyme.

I highly recommend that you target and treat any co infections, viral titers that may be very high and heavy metal toxicities prior to or at least during HBOT. You will achieve better results.

i don't mean to hijack your thread, but it brought up a question that i want to know more about please!

last night's area paper had a 4-yr. old girl with a RARE DISEASE, and she will be going to Kansas City for HBOT, and 4 weeks of treatment for $70,000 ... ALL OUT OF POCKET??!!

How does anyone find out where HBOTs are located in EACH STATE, and the $$ COST PER SESSION, ETC.

I personally was shocked for $70,000 for 1 month of treatment, but I have NO knowledge on this subject.

I'd appreciate everyone's views on this. [group hug]

$70,000? Wow. It costs $60 per one hour session here...they recommend two sessions per day.

Can't imagine why it would cost $70,000?

There's no way it would cost $70,000 for a month. Maybe you mean $7000? I'm not sure how it could cost that much either, but maybe with hotel, food, and two sessions a day...it could add up. But nothing near 70K. Maybe she is getting other treatments as well.

$60/session is reasonable considering what we pay to go to regular drs. for appt.; not specialists! AGAIN, BIG THANKS EVERY ONE for your replies! [group hug]

$70,000 a month has got to be a typo.
Even if you paid a high price per dive, at $200/treatment and did one per day, it's not even close to that. Maybe they stayed at a $2,000/night luxury hotel though!

I don't know how current that site/listing is so you will all have to call around for prices and make sure they will do the Lyme protocol at 2.4 ATA correctly in a monoplace (single person) chamber.

Julia here on the site has a great place in New Jersey and she clearly knows exactly what she is doing!!

julie, if this couple would have questions, and you have this HBOT business, could they email you?

if yes, could you send me a PM and show your home email or work email? I want to be prepared to help this family.

Also, read the online version of this article in 2 newspapers; both show $70,000. [confused]

Bettyg, there is the possiblity that the family is having their child treated out of desperation at a hospital setting. Which is quite costly...

The cost for the use of a hyperbaric chamber in a hospital setting can be as much as $3000.00 per session.. NO JOKE! Hospitals charge by the half hour unit. Do the math [Eek!]

I am as member in good standing with the UHMS that regulates Hyperbaric Medicine. And was contacted about two months ago by a Hyperbaric Medical Director in a University hospital.

Long story short they did not know how to treat lyme, what to expect, how does a herx manifest under oxygen etc.

The great thing is that they where actually willing to treat this kid...

Hyperbaric Centers are more willing to treat "off label" conditions such as lyme,autism, Cerebral Palsy and brain injury.

This is the catagory where I believe "lyme" should fall...

However, when going to a HBOT center please be armed with research. Not all centers are alike, not all equipment is the same either.

I would be very happy to answer any questions in that department. I hope this answers some questions.

That's not a hospital. Its a hyperbaric clinic and I would email them via their website if I were curious

I suspect it was a typo in the newspaper. Even with the other added therapies the place would go out of business if they charged $70K per month!!!!

I can't imagine! Maybe they are giving this child hyperbaric, EEG neurofeedback, and physical therapy and maybe the cost of all those day in day out is $7000. That's all I can imagine.

fyi, tonight i talked to grandpa and he said the little girl is getting her daddy's kidney on may 6....then the rest will come later!

he gave me his daughter's email; so i sent her this thread, julia's info...so she may contact your site by email or phone call; etc.
