So about three days ago, this new symptom suddenly started. It seems pretty neuro, but unfortunately my LLMD is out of town for a week so I have nobody to consult.
It feels like I'm being STABBED by pins, mostly in my arms and hands, particularly in my hands. It will come on really suddenly, and sometimes it feels like the pins are on fire and then the skin around feels on fire. I notice it more when I move around or pick something up.
It doesn't seem to match that "pins and needles" sensation described when I look it up, which describes the feeling as what it's like when your foot wakes up from being asleep and it's all tingly/prickly. This is different: literally like someone is stabbing me with little pins really hard.
I wouldn't rule out the possibility that my duck who just dumped me as a patient (see "general" posts) is doing some kind of voodoo.
Has anyone had this symptom? Or should I just go for the duck voodoo explanation? Because two can play at that game. . .

I had it and still have some. Tetracykline helped a little. Also Babs meds help.
I would like to learn about others experience with this too.

Yes, pins and needles is pretty common.
At the time of Bell's palsy I was also severely hypothyroid. Getting thyroid hormone in me day after day rescued me from pins and needles.
Others on here say good treatment got rid of it.

I had exactly what you describe--a feeling of being stabbed by pins--and it was mostly on my hands and arms.
It went away within about 3 days of starting doxy, if my memory serves me correctly.
After 30 days of meds, my internist would not give me any more doxy, and the feeling returned.
It went away again once I started antibiotics again.
