I am thinking about buying one, but wonder if there is a better to way to spend 3,000$ for Lyme?
Anyone feel it made a big difference in their treatment? My main symptom is neuro pain.

Well, I don't know if anyone could ever directly attribute success all to a sauna, since people seem to use it in conjunction with abx/detox/herbs. I sucked it up and got one and boy, do I LOVE it! I feel really good when I get out. But yeah, the initial expense.....not that fun.

I love my sauna. It is a 2 person and I think it was about $1,400.00.

My daughter and I love it. You sweat, which is ALWAYS good. The bacteria hate heat, which is why most of us have below normal body temps.
It is relaxing and comforting, and brings up body oils for soft skin.
It was one of the best investments we have made, and ours is only the portable model.

Has anyone had good luck w/a traditional sauna rather than a dry sauna? My husband and I were thinking that the steam would be nice in the winter when everything is so dry.

Laura,
Research the difference in the two. Everything I read says the FarInFared Sauna penetrates deeper into the tissue removing more toxins and is safer as it generates less heat.
Steam saunas have the risk of bacterial growth. Molds are very toxic for me.
njgirl,
What brand/model sauna do you have?

Well I ordered mine from therasage, they seem to know a lot about lyme. Can't wait to start cooking myself in it.
I have used them before at spas and definitely noticed that my pain levels went down for a while after using it. I had a herx like reaction too the first few times, I would start twitching everywhere and the burning would increase. Hope the long term effects are good.

I've used both a traditional sauna and a FIR sauna. I did not feel the benefit from the traditional sauna .... I just felt hot. The FIR sauna brings so much more to the surface.
My skin feels the best it's ever felt using this. Smooth and soft.
At first it would make my symptoms worse, now it does not.
I don't know how much of my improvement can be attributed to the sauna. I generally think of it as being for detox. The more detox I can do through my skin, the less stress on my liver. I've been able to take boatloads of meds and my liver enzymes have stayed normal.
I think it's money well spent. I have a three person Sunlight Sauna.

I love my sauna and it's $$ well spent.
If you want a good one, try www.therasage.com Ask about discounts offered to Lyme patients! I have the sauna and heating pads and LOVE them. The CEO of the company understands Lyme and wants to do everything he can to get these products into the hands of Lyme patients to help get them well. His daughter has Lyme, and is on Lymenet too, (hi!)
I highly recommend Therasage based on my personal experience and the products are cheaper than you will pay elsewhere!

I bought one and it CURED my Lyme in a week. Before I was sick for 25 years and even intravenous for 6 years didn't do anything for me.
PS
Hope you like my sense of humor. I have always wanted to see such a post that would be real.

I'm currently having one built in my house. I feel i sweat more in a tradtional sauna that you can throw water on the rocks (that's when i really sweat) vs the FIR sauna's. But FIR seems to be pretty popular. So I'm having a dual sauna built. Best of both worlds.
With a tradition sauna u can do aromatherapy which my dr said would be a good idea.

They really help with detoxing and pain relief, especially sore muscles and painful joints. It is one of the tools I use to stay well and healthy! :)Try Therasage, they are really nice folks.
